(Minghui.org) Young or old, it makes no difference to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They'll arrest you if you are in any way connected to Falun Gong practitioners. On May 30, police in Hengshui, Hebei Province illegally arrested a man in his 70s and an 8-month-old baby—yes, a baby—along with 12 others.
Non-practitioners were also arrested and beaten. One woman who was beaten miscarried, a landlady was detained, and an elderly woman was taken to the hospital for her injuries. Police claimed that those arrested were "terrorists."
Mr. Zhang Hengyu and his wife, Ms. Tan Fengling, rented a house in Hengshui Township. The police arrested them and their daughter-in-law, who was not a practitioner, and their three grandsons, one of whom was 8 months old.
When Mr. Zhang vehemently resisted arrest, he was beaten. Officers covered his head with a black cloth and forced him into a car. The family was taken to a detention center that was privately set up in a hotel in Hengshui by the 610 Office.
Mr. Zhang's landlady, in her 60s and a non-practitioner, was also arrested and interrogated by two agents from the domestic security division. They kept her handcuffed for 24 hours and released her two days later.
That same day, Mr. Liu Xiwei and his son, Mr. Liu Bing, were arrested at their store in Zaoqiang County. Bing was tortured with the “water detention” method for several days. Mr. Liu's wife, Ms. Sun Suying, and her mother who is in her 70s were arrested at their home in Donggu Village, Guangchuan Town. Police confiscated 110,000 yuan and expensive personal property.
In another incident, police surrounded the home of Mr. Zhang Hongguo. Officers from the domestic security division of Hengshui and Zaoqiang counties led a goon squad of police to make the arrest. They climbed over privacy walls and broke windows to enter and find Mr. Zhang. However, he was not at home. The intruders found Mr. Zhang's son and daughter-in-law and attacked them. When his son defended himself, he was beaten.
After ransacking Mr. Zhang's home, police went to another residence owned by Mr. Zhang in Yuhua Community, Nanguan, Zaoqiang County. Taking no chances, the police arranged for ten vehicles in three locations. Beside police, they brought in firefighters, rescue vehicles, and medical personnel to arrest three law-abiding citizens: Mr. Zhang, his wife, and their daughter Ms. Zhang Minghui. They looted their computers, printers, and cash in the house, and confiscated the family car.
In their haste to arrest Mr. Zhang, police made a mistake on his address and broke into the home of Mr. Liu Hongqiao, a non-practitioner in Yuhua Community. Without showing him a search or arrest warrant, they went through the home and pulled his pregnant daughter from her bed, then threw her down and beat her. She was carrying triplets. The beating caused her to miscarry one of the babies she was carrying. The doctors at Zaoqiang Hospital could not guarantee that the woman will carry the other two fetuses to term. She was transferred to a Beijing hospital.
An older woman, who was at the Liu home at the time of the home invasion, asked police what was going on. They informed her roughly they were arresting terrorists, and injured her. She was taken to the hospital for her injuries.
In yet another incident on the same day, police broke into the home of Ms. Chen Yuying, 60, who was not at home. Because of numerous threats and harassment to her relatives, Ms. Chen was forced out of her home and later became homeless.
