(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Ruiping is a retired teacher from Kungang Third Elementary School in Anning City, Yunnan Province. The police arrested her for distributing Falun Dafa materials in 2009. She was sentenced to three years in prison after an illegal trial in 2010. While she was in prison, the authorities forced her to sign an agreement to give up her pension, medical coverage, and labor insurance.

Ms. Yang, 53, began to practice Falun Dafa in 1997 and regained her health. In 1999 she retired and used her free time to help clarify the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong to people she met.

Ms. Yang distributed Falun Dafa informational materials near a train station in Guangnan County at 8 p.m. on October 28, 2009. Several people who didn't know the truth about Falun Dafa reported her to the police. Three local policemen arrested her and interrogated her overnight, while she was kept in handcuffs. That same night the police went to her apartment and searched it without a warrant. They confiscated her cell phone and an MP3 player. The next day they transferred her to Guangnan County Detention Center.

Three officers from Anning City Domestic Security transferred Ms. Yang to Anning City Detention Center on November 2, 2009. The police again went to search her apartment and confiscated a laser printer, a laptop, a hard drive, Falun Dafa books and DVDs, and other materials.

Ms. Yang was detained in the Anning Detention Center for 13 months and put on trial on November 10, 2010. The judge sentenced her to three years in prison. She was taken to Yunnan Province Women's Prison on January 4, 2011, and tortured.

In March 2011 three women and a man from the Kungang Retirement Division went to the prison and forced Ms. Yang to sign a document to terminate her labor contract and took away her right to labor insurance. She lost her pension and medical care.
