Many Falun Gong Practitioners in Tianjin Unlawfully Arrested for Their Belief

(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners from the Binhai District in Tianjin have been illegally arrested over the past few months. Their homes were ransacked, and some have been detained.

Ms. Xu Guomin, Ms. Gao Shuli and Ms. Long were arrested by officers from the Yujiabao Police Station on June 27, 2014. Their homes were ransacked and personal belongings confiscated. They are being held in the Zhaojiadi Detention Center.

Six people, family and friends of practitioners detained in Binhai Prison, were arrested in front of the prison gate on June 13 by officers from the Dagang Domestic Security Division and several police stations. Four of them were released that evening, but retired school teacher Ms. Li Shuxia and Ms. Han Wenmin are still being held. Ms. Li's home was also ransacked.

Mr. Chen Guoliang and his wife were arrested on May 27 by officers from the Tanggu Police Department and Hujiayun Police Station in the Binhai District. Mrs. Chen's younger sister Ms. Wang Ping was also arrested. Police ransacked their home and confiscated a large number of personal items, including their cash.

Mr. Zhao Wanjiang and his wife from Zhaizhuangzi Village in the Taiping Township were arrested on April 21 by officers from the Dagang Domestic Security Division and Taiping Town Police Station. They have now been released.

Ms. Wang Shuqin, in her 60's, from Gongrong Village, was pushed down to the ground outside her home on April 16 by policemen who were monitoring her home. She lost consciousness at some point during the process. She was later taken to the Shangbei Police Station, and then transferred to the Zhaojiadi Detention Center.

The police claimed that they had been monitoring Ms. Wang for a year. They ransacked her home and confiscated a large number of personal items, including two computers, two printers, a notebook and her personal address book. They also extorted money from her family.

Mr. Wang Shulin, also in his sixties, was arrested at his home by plainclothes police on the morning of March 10. They ransacked his home and confiscated two computers, three printers, DVDs and truth clarification materials. They took his wife to the police station in the afternoon. The police agreed to release her on bail due to her poor health, but only after extorting 10,000 yuan from her. Mr. Wang is being held in the Zhaojiadi Detention Center.
