(Minghui.org) Display boards describing the crimes of state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China were seen by locals and foreigners on the morning of July 5, 2014, as they walked along the bustling Bahnhof Strasse shopping avenue in Zurich, Switzerland. Many passersby signed their names to the signature petition, which was organized by Falun Gong practitioners.
People sign their names at the signature drive in Zurich to help stop organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China.
After a Swiss doctor signed her name, she told a practitioner that she had been doing liver transplant surgeries for years. She said she was aware of the forced organ harvesting in China, and always wanted to do something to help stop the crimes. “I know that people were killed in China just for their organs.” She said, “This is against the principle of being a doctor. A doctor helps the patients, but should not destroy a life, or decide who can live and who must die.”
She understood that the illegal organ harvesting and transplanting involves money and the desire to live, but said, “It is evil in the view of universal human standards.”
Being a doctor, she felt that some of the doctors involved in the illegal organ harvesting business were doing so involuntarily, and she urged them, “Find the courage to stop the killing in traditional Chinese culture.” Before leaving, she took a flyer from Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) and expressed her wish to join the organization and help stop the live organ harvesting in China.
Mr. and Mrs. Fidan, a local couple, also said that they had heard about the organ harvesting crimes in China. “Forced organ harvesting (from living people) is scary and inhuman,” said Mrs. Fidan. “This should not happen at all and must be stopped immediately. I am against the tortures and the persecution (of Falun Gong in China). I signed my name to help pressure the politicians to do something to stop the persecution.”
Mr. Fidan agreed and added, “It is crazy to take organs from living people. We can help to let more people know this and spread the message.”
His wife also mentioned legislation in the European Commons targeted at stopping such crimes. “People should do something to stop such crimes, and we should have some laws legislated in European countries. We often talk about human rights issues in China, but it is not enough to keep the talk only in the media. We must do something more effective.”
Laussane is a Tibetan living in Switzerland who has seen Falun Gong activities in Lucerne City, and learned the truth about the persecution. “It is really bad that the Chinese Communist regime forcibly takes organs from living people. The world should become aware of what is happening in China. Everyone should learn the truth about what is happening in China.” He took many printed materials and offered to help pass them out, to help more people learn the truth, and help stop the persecution in China.
The father of a family of three asked about the purpose of the signature drive. A practitioner told him that an organization, “Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH)” had presented about 1.5 million signatures to the United Nations last year, and requested that the UN do further investigation and take action to stop the atrocity in China. The father signed his name and later brought his wife and daughter to the site to sign their names to the petition.
The signature drives are helping more people become aware of the organ harvesting crimes in China, and many patients will no longer buy organs from the Chinese Communist regime. These events are helping to inform the world's people and stop the organ harvesting atrocity in China.
