(Minghui.org) Over the past several years, practitioners in our region provided timely and accurate reporting on cases of persecution. Publishing the names of the perpetrators deterred them from harming more practitioners. The following is a sharing of our approach, experience, and thoughts. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
The head of the National Security Brigade in our region used to be a woman. After the persecution of Falun Dafa started in July 1999, she actively participated as a way to get promoted. She was directly involved in the arrests and illegal sentencing to forced labor camps and/or prisons of many practitioners. Some died as a result.
To keep her from continuing, we decided to make public the crimes she committed against practitioners. We collected all persecution cases that she was directly involved in and published them in an Open Letter on the Minghui website. As soon as the Open Letter was published on Minghui, we printed it out and distributed it throughout the city. Some practitioners delivered it to the community she resides in and posted the letter on the door of her apartment.
The Open Letter worked. City residents all talked about it. They commented on how surprising it was that a woman could be so coldhearted to carry out such cruel persecution and on the illegality of the persecution. Her family members felt the pressure of public opinion. They tried explaining to neighbors that they didn't persecute practitioners. Since then, we haven't heard about her participating in the persecution.
Another practitioner lives in the suburbs. When I went to visit him one day, he was cleaning up his house. He told me that several policemen had just ransacked it. He said that they searched his house from time to time; sometimes in the middle of the night; sometimes at noon, after they'd had a few drinks. I asked him whether he knew any of them. He told me he didn't. They rode motorcycles to his house each time. This time, he overheard them calling one guy's given name, Hu. He had a dark complexion and a round face.
I went to the local police station during lunch break. The police station has a bulletin board with every policeman's name and phone number on it. I found the policeman with the given name of Hu, and he looked just as the practitioner described him. I copied down his name and phone number and sent the news of the policemen's illegal search and drinking during work hours to the Minghui website the same day.
After a couple of days, the practitioner told me that that policeman came to see him and said that his information, including his phone number, was published on the Minghui website's list of perpetrators. For the past two days, his phone was ringing off the hook – overseas practitioners had been calling him. I asked the practitioner whether the policeman was really afraid. He said the policeman was indeed worried, since we also reported that he drank during working hours.
Since then, not just this policeman, but the others at this police station have been careful not to harass practitioners.
A practitioner was illegally sent to a forced labor camp. We sent the report of how he was persecuted to the Minghui website, and it was published. It was during the Chinese New Year, so overseas practitioners sent New Year's greeting cards to this practitioner. Everyone at the forced labor camp knew about this. A policeman said to the practitioner: “You're so famous, even people overseas know you.”As a result, the practitioner was not treated as poorly as before.
One day, a practitioner told me that another practitioner had been unnecessarily sent to a mental hospital. (Sending practitioners to mental hospitals is one way the Chinese regime persecutes them.). I asked her to find out and confirm more details and to tell the practitioner's family to go ask for the practitioner's release.
Based on the information I had thus far, I quickly drafted a report. Two hours later, the practitioner gave me the perpetrators' names, organizations, and their phone numbers. I added the information to the draft and sent it to the Minghui website. I also wrote a truth-clarification letter and sent it to Minghui, which published it the next day. Three days later, local practitioners distributed truth-clarification materials about this case all over the city. The family also went to request the practitioner's release. On the fifth day, the practitioner was released.
During our investigation of this case, a practitioner searching for one of the perpetrators' phone numbers found a person with the same name and posted this person's phone number. That night, practitioners from both China and overseas called the number. This person happened to know the real perpetrator and lives not far from him. The next day, he went to the real perpetrator's home before dawn and said, “It's so unfortunate that you and I have the same name. You arrested a Falun Gong practitioner, and they called my number. You've committed a bad deed and implicated me.” The perpetrator was afraid to face that person.
On June 4, 2013, CCTV (which is controlled by the Chinese regime) news reported that Falun Gong practitioners staged a torture scene. The report described how several people in uniform were holding down a "victim" with toothbrushes between his fingers and his hands covered with blood. The report then said that practitioners were faking the torture. They used a photo of practitioners demonstrating this torture to frame practitioners.
I learned about this on June 6. I wrote a commentary the same day and sent it to the Minghui website. Then I remembered I had collected cases of policemen and prison guards using toothbrushes to hurt practitioners' fingers in the past. Why not use those cases to disclose the CCP's evil nature? I dug out the material and completed an article about tortures endured by practitioners. It was 2 a.m. when I started writing the article. I thought to myself: I can't wait until tomorrow to finish. Timely disclosure is best.”
On June 7, Minghui published this article, a direct blow and strong refutation to CCTV's lies.
Teacher said in "Master's Comment on a Student’s Article" (The Essentials Of Diligent Progress Vol. III)
“Exposing the wicked policemen and bad persons and publicizing their evil deeds is extremely effective at shocking and restraining those irrational, wicked people. At the same time, by clarifying the facts to the people on a local level it most directly exposes, and generates public awareness of, the wicked persecution. It is also a great way to save the people who have been poisoned and deceived by the lies. I hope all Dafa disciples and new students in mainland China will do this well.”Going forward, we will continue to follow' Teacher's guidance and expose perpetrators' evil deeds so long as the persecution continues. Doing so will let people know of the Chinese regime's evil nature and wake them up from the countless lies they have been inundated with.
