(Minghui.org) Ms. Song Caiping, 70, was walking in front of the Changxing Shopping Plaza in Wafangdian City on July 5, 2012 when a vehicle suddenly pulled up beside her. The driver, along with two accomplices, grabbed her and forced her into the vehicle,
Ms. Song asked, “Who are you? Why are you taking me?”
The reply was, “We are evildoers.”
One of the “evildoers” was Hou Jun, a police officer from Wafangdian City, who has taken the lead in illegally arresting and persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
The morning after the arrest, Ms. Song was taken to a sound proof room. Hou Jun shouted at her, “This is a newly renovated room with sound proofing. It is useless for you to scream.”
The police took away Ms. Song's purse and confiscated 1,000 yuan and her house keys. Without notifying her family, police ransacked her home. In total, they took 20,000 yuan, three computers, six printers, and a lot of Falun Gong truth clarifying materials.
During the interrogation, Hou Jun told Ms. Song that the police had been following her and monitoring her family for quite some time. They installed cameras near her home, had her family placed under constant surveillance and bugged their home telephone line.
That evening, Hou Jun and a number of officers took Ms. Song to Wafangdian City Hospital for Women and Infants for a medical examination.
Ms. Song resisted the forced examination, so Hou Jun pushed her to the floor and pressed her down with his knee on her rib cage. He managed to draw some blood from her finger and pretended the examination had been completed.
Afterward, Ms. Song was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City.
A month later, on August 6, two officers from Wafangdian City took her into the hallway and handed her paperwork for her release and demanded money in return. Ms. Song refused and was sent back to detention.
On September 6, the same two officers reappeared and repeated the process. Ms. Song refused again.
Half a month later, they came back a third time and were refused.
Fifteen days later, Ms. Song was sentenced to two years of forced labor and taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City.
Upon arrival at the labor camp, Ms. Song did not pass the medical examination and was released that same day.
On the day Ms. Song was arrested, Hou Jun also arrested Mr. Wang Linkai, a teacher from Longshan Elementary School. Mr. Wang was immediately taken to the local detention center.
He was sentenced to forced labor on August 9, 2012 and detained at Dalian City Rehabilitation Center, formerly known as Dalian Forced Labor Camp, where he was beaten and tortured to the verge of death.
Mr. Wang's wife and aunt went to the police department on November 15, 2012, requesting a meeting with Hou Jun to demand Mr. Wang's release and the return of his personal belongings. Hou Jun denied their request. Moreover, he grabbed Mr. Wang's aunt by the hair and kicked his wife while threatening them: “I will beat you to death.”
Ms. Yin was taken to Yaojia Detention Center and later sentenced to four years in prison on the charge that she emailed three articles that were downloaded from the Minghui website.
Her arrest and imprisonment caused a tremendous amount of anguish to her family. Her child had been preparing to take the college entrance exam, and her parents-in-laws were suffering from various illnesses.A Voice of Justice from the Heart of a Lawyer
While defending a Falun Gong practitioner during a local trial, a lawyer said, “Today I stand here to defend a practitioner who is steadfast in his belief, and I am very proud of it. I have more than sufficient evidence and legal grounds to uphold his belief, which is also upholding the dignity of the law and the universal values of humankind.”
“What Falun Gong practitioners are doing not only causes no harm, but is beneficial to others and to society at large. Falun Gong is bound to have its name cleared one day. When that day comes, and you have to face justice, how can you defend yourself and justify what you are doing today? I would be seriously worried if I were you.”
