It was a beautiful day. The Falun Dafa practitioners' procession featured a float emblazoned with their guiding principles “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” an exercise demonstration team, and a waist drum troupe. The host of the parade, Mathew McBride, praised Falun Dafa practitioners for sharing positive values in Canada and around the world, and for actively promoting Falun Dafa in different cities on the plains of British Columbia.
Mr. McBride said that Canada was a country of peace and tolerance and that welcomes people of different cultural backgrounds. The Falun Dafa Association has participated in numerous parades in many cities within British Columbia and is always warmly received. Falun Dafa had long become a part of Canada and is a part of the much celebrated multiculturalism in the community.
After the parade, City Councilor Zoë Royer, and recipient of Freedom of the City, Mary Anne Cooper, took group pictures with Falun Dafa practitioners and thanked them for their great contribution to Port Moody.
Councilor Royer said she was very impressed with the beauty of the Falun Dafa procession. She also mentioned that it was great to see Chinese culture in the community activity, as it’s part of Canada’s multiculturalism. She said with enthusiasm that Falun Dafa was beautiful, noble and inspiring.
Councilor Nuttall said his daughter-in-law was Chinese. He was happy to see Falun Dafa practitioners bring Chinese culture and actively promote the practice in the community. He thanked them for bringing joy and color to the parade.

A parade spectator, Glen, commented, “Canada is a country of freedom. Everyone enjoys the freedom of belief. Falun Dafa practitioners have the freedom to express their belief. I'm happy to see them. I like their performance. I cheer for them!”
Another supporter, Angela, added, “I know about Falun Dafa. I cheer for them. Their performance is great! They bring a different culture, but we are all Canadians.”
A local resident, Peter, said Falun Dafa brought him a pleasant surprise. Waving the Falun Dafa flyer, he said he looked forward to learning more about the practice.
