Mr. Xuan Chengxi, 61, was taken to the Hezhen Township government by police led by Wei Yongcai, Party head of Hewan Village, on October 11, 2000. He died that day after being repeatedly beaten by Wang Xinmin and Chu Yongsheng.
Mr. Meng Qingxi, in his 40s, was interrogated using torture in November 2000. He was beaten to death by Wang Lequan and more than a dozen others at the judiciary department of Mucun Township on November 20. His body was cremated against his family's wishes that day. His family members were not even allowed to grieve, and news of his death was withheld.
Mr. Wang Wuke, 26, went to Beijing to appeal on October 1, 2000. He was arrested and died at the hands of the police while he was being taken back to his hometown of Gaomi.
Ms. Li Xianglan, 49, was working in the field on the morning of May 7, 2001, when officers Cao Jinhui, Zhu Wei and others from Zhucheng Domestic Security Division arrested her and took her to Linjia Village Police Station. She suffered a brutal beating and died the next morning.
Ms. Zhao Fenghua was arrested for distributing truth-clarification materials in late February 2002. She was beaten and tortured by officer Fan Tao and others who also put her on a death bed to torture her. She died as a result of persecution around March 11, at the age of 53.
Ms. Su Baolan, 37, was forced to leave home in the spring of 2001 to avoid the persecution. She returned home in mid October to see her family and to clarify the facts to them. However, she was betrayed by her husband who was hostile towards Falun Gong after listening to the Chinese Communist Party's lies. Ms. Su was taken to a brainwashing center in Anqiu. Her body was found floating in a river in late October.
Ms. Li Guojun, 37, was forced to leave home to avoid the persecution in 2001. She went missing on April 16, 2002.
In early June 2002, Cui, Party head of Shouguang Township, told her family that she was detained at the 610 Office brainwashing center and that she could be released if her family paid 2,000 yuan. Ms. Li's husband believed him. He borrowed 2,000 yuan and gave the money to Cui, hoping that his wife would return home soon.
However, on June 9, her family was notified that she was dead and her body had been sent to the crematory.
Her husband asked to see her body, but at first he was not allowed to. Because her family insisted, they were finally allowed to take a brief look. They saw that her body was covered with horrific bruises.
Ms. Zong Xiuxia, 56, was retired from a catering service company. She was taken to Guangwen Police Station in Kuiwen District of Weifang City on February 22, 2008. She died as a result of persecution four hours later.
Ms. Zhang Yuelan, 70, was a retired doctor. During the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, she was put under house arrest by police and her family. Due to intense intimidation and mental pressure, she developed serious illness symptoms and passed away on August 15, 2008.
Ms. Guo had been arrested and detained many times. She died as a result of persecution at Shouguang Brainwashing Center in April 2012.
Thirteen practitioners were reading Falun Gong books at Ms. Wang's home on the morning of June 4, 2001. The police took them to Shouguang Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Lanxiang was in her 60s. The guards shocked her with electric batons the entire afternoon on June 7, but she did not give in. The guards then used a thicker baton with even higher voltage to shock her. She died when they shocked her heart. To cover up their crime, the perpetrators had her cremated immediately.
Ms. Li Yinping, 37, an employee of Weifang Municipal Animal Husbandry Bureau, was one of the 13 practitioners arrested at Ms. Wang Lanxiang's home. She was subjected to beatings and sexual abuses before she died three days after she was taken to Shouguang Detention Center.
According to her fellow practitioners detained in the same center, she started to cough up blood on the afternoon of June 5, but the guards didn't take any notice of her condition. Practitioners pounded on the door to protest. The guards opened the door and lashed Ms. Li Yinping with a leather whip.
Earlier, the thugs stripped her naked and threatened to gang rape her. They shocked her private parts and her breasts with electric batons while she screamed in pain throughout the night. When practitioners asked the guards to give her some water to drink, the guards said she wouldn't die and they would continue to shock her until daybreak. Later, when they realized she was dying, they quickly carried her out.
Ms. Wang Peisheng, 68, was a retired official of a hardware store in Weifang. She went to Beijing to appeal on June 27, 2000. After she was escorted back to Weifang, she was put in detention and subjected to harsh living conditions and hard labor. She died in her cell in the early morning hours of July 12, 2000.
Ms. Yang Guizhen, 40, was arrested in September 2000 for distributing truth-clarification materials. She was taken to Zhucheng Detention Center and beaten by guards and inmates. Later, she was chained to an iron chair for four days and nights, with no food or drink. She was not even allowed to use the toilet. By October 17, she had become extremely weak. She fainted and fell down. The guards still kept her chained to the iron chair. She died not long after.
Ms. Wang Aijuan, 43, used to work in a cotton mill in Weifang. In early April 2001, she and two other practitioners, Li Zhilian and Song Hongzhi, were arrested for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. They were beaten and taken to Fangzi Detention Center. They went on a hunger strike to protest the detention.
On April 7, Wang Quanfeng, head of the Domestic Security Division and Li Jinsheng, head of the detention center, and a few others force-fed Ms. Wang with a kilo of salt mixed with water. She lapsed into critical condition and died that evening.
An autopsy was conducted, and her body was cremated the next day. When her husband tried to prevent the cremation, the police beat him severely. On the day of cremation, the entire police force in the Fangzi District came out on guard. In order to block the news of Ms. Wang's death, the 610 Office sentenced practitioners Li Zhilian and Song Hongzhi to forced labor.
Ms. Guo Ping, 27, was arrested with her husband Liu Peidong from home on December 29, 2001. Their home was ransacked and all their valuables and personal belongings were taken away by police. The couple was detained at Kuiwen District Detention Center. Ms. Guo went on a hunger strike, but was force-fed, which caused her stomach to rupture and bleed severely.
She was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. She was vomiting blood, her eyes stared blankly, and her hands, feet, and face were swollen. She then lost consciousness. Even though she was unconscious, during treatment her hands remained cuffed and her ward was guarded by a number of police. She passed away on the evening of May 15, 2002.
Ms. Gao Shuhua, 49, was arrested for speaking to people about Falun Gong and distributing informational materials on March 14, 2003. She was taken to Weicheng District Detention Center, where she was subjected to physical torture and mental torment. She died from savage force-feeding on March 26 at the age of 49.
The police, led by Ding Bofeng, head of the police station in Zhucheng Development Zone, broke into Ms. Liu's home on July 10, 2008. They searched and ransacked the house and took her to Zhucheng Detention Center. She died as a result of torture two weeks later on July 27.
Ms. Wang Li, 38, an employee of a cast steel factory in Gaomi, was arrested on October 20, 2009, by police from Gaomi Economic Development Zone. She died from torture seven days later.
Mr. Tian Jinzhi, 60, failed to return home on October 1, 2009. No one knew what happened to him until one day in November his family got a notice from Kuiwen District Police Department, saying he had died around October 10 in prison. An autopsy was conducted on his body without the knowledge or consent of his family.
Mr. Liu Shuchun, 38, was taken to Changle Forced Labor Camp on January 3, 2001. The guards instigated six inmates to beat him for over an hour and he died. His body turned black and blue all over from the beating. In order to cover up their crime, the authorities ordered that his entire head be bandaged so that people could not see his injured face.
Mr. Sun Jianqiu, in his 40s, was a farmer in Changle County. He was arrested and taken to Changle Detention Center in January 2001. He went on a hunger strike for more than three weeks before being transferred to the notorious Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. He died when someone struck him on the head while he was doing the Falun Gong exercises.
When his body was sent home from the labor camp, his head was bandaged up. Armed police guarded his body so that his family members could not get close. Local police also took turns watching his family to prevent them from making contact with any practitioners.
Earlier in January, his wife, Ms. Gao Liping, was also sentenced to forced labor. Their child was only five or six at the time. Local police took all their valuables and personal belongings before Ms. Gao was taken to the labor camp.

Ms. Tan Pingyun, 56, was arrested from home by more than 20 people on November 8, 2005, led by Gao Xinchang, head of the 610 Office in Weifang. She was taken to Shandong No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp on December 6. She died on May 18, 2006, as a result of the torture.
Ms. Zhang Chengmei was taken to Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp prior to the 2010 New Year. She was beaten and was deprived of food and water. She was not even allowed to use the restroom, wash her face or brush her teeth. She was forced to stand still for long periods of time and inmates also shoved urine-soaked cloths into her mouth. She died on February 6, 2010, as a result of the torture. By the time she died, her teeth were knocked out and her arms were broken. She was reduced to a bag of bones from a healthy person weighing over 60 kilos before the ordeal. Her body was cremated under the close watch of the police and her family members were not allowed to take any photos.
Ms. Li Fang, 57, was subjected to long periods of slave labor while she was detained in Shandong Women's Prison. She started to run a high fever as a result. Even so, she was still forced to work until she could no longer continue. She passed away on April 27, 2002.
Ms. Li Xiuzhen, in her early 50s, was a kindergarten teacher. She died as a resultof torture at Jinan Prison in early October of 2009, three months after her last arrest. Her body was cremated without her family's consent.
Before her death, she was arrested 19 times, sentenced to seven years in prison, force-fed 616 times, and tortured in over a dozen different ways.
Mr. Zhao Bin was fired from his job after the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Falun Gong. His wife divorced him and he was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. He managed to support himself by working as a loading laborer.
In the evening on April 27, 2012, Mr. Zhao Bin was arrested in Shanghai. He was later sentenced to four years imprisonment and taken to Tilanqiao Prison on September 3, 2013. He died from torture on October 19, and his body was immediately cremated.
