(Minghui.org) May 13, 2014 marked the 15th annual celebration of World Falun Dafa Day. The joyful holiday commemorates the public introduction of this traditional cultivation practice for mind, body and spirit, and celebrates the birthday of the practice's founder, Master Li Hongzhi.
Since the holiday's inception 14 years ago, World Falun Dafa Day has gained widespread support from Dafa practitioners and non-practitioners alike. In celebration of the 15th annual World Falun Dafa Day, many elected officials in the State of New York proclaimed Falun Dafa Day and commended this spiritual movement which has benefited so many people worldwide.

The Honorable Carolyn McCarthy, Congresswoman of District 4; the Honorable Nydia M. Velazquez, Congresswoman of District 7; the Honorable Hakeem Jeffries, Congressman of District 8; and the Honorable Charles Rangel, Congressman of District 13 presented proclamations or wrote congratulatory letters to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day.
The New York State Senate proclaimed World Falun Dafa for the fourth consecutive year, with a resolution initiated by 17 senators. In addition, senators Mr. Carl L. Marcelino, Phil Boyle and George Latimer also wrote proclamations for Falun Dafa individually.
Sixteen elected representatives presented proclamations for World Falun Dafa and recognized Falun Dafa's contributions to the community and the world. The legislators included Mr. Joseph C. Borelli, Karim Camara, Steve Englebright, Michael J. Fitzpatrick, Andrew R. Garbarino, Alfred Graf, Edward Hennessey, Joseph Lentol, Chad A. Lupinacci, David G. McDonough, Tom McKevitt, Walter T. Mosley, Andrew P. Raia, Phil Ramos, Robert Rodriguez, Michelle Schimel and Fred W. Thiele, Jr.
New York City Councilmen Mr. Alan N. Maisel and Antonio Reynoso, community leader Ms. Martha Flores Vazquez, and elected officials from ten districts and townships of Long Island also wrote proclamations in honor of World Falun Dafa Day.
