(Minghui.org) Three women are still being held at the Jinzhou Detention Center for their belief in Falun Gong despite the fact that they are seriously ill from ongoing abuse and have been rejected for admission by prison authorities. The court and the detention center gave family members the run-around and refused to release them.
Ms. Zhou Yuzhen and Ms. Wang Yanqiu, were illegally sentenced to four years at Liaoning Women's Prison in January 2014. The prison officials refused to accept them because of poor health.
Ms. Wang has advanced anemia, high blood pressure, hysteromyoma and problems with her cervical vertebrae. Ms. Zhou has symptoms of high blood pressure and also showed symptoms of hematochezia in February.
Ms. Xu Huiping was sentenced to four and a half years in September 2013. Prison officials refused to accept her because of high blood pressure and a heart problem.
Ms. Wang's family was informed twice on March 11, 2014, to come to the detention Center as quickly as possible by guard Shi Hong. They went on March 12 and were told that Ms. Wang needed an operation. The guard then ordered them to pay for the operation. Her family said they couldn't afford it. Later, Ms. Wang was told she would be taken to the prison if she didn't get the operation.
Ms. Xu's family received a phone call at 6 a.m. on April 7, 2013, and were told that Ms. Xu had fainted and had been taken to the Jinzhou City No. 3 Affiliated Hospital in an ambulance. Her family immediately went to the hospital. The doctor said that Ms. Xu had to remain in the hospital because of high blood pressure and a heart problem. Ms. Xu's family asked the head of the detention center to release her as they didn't have money to pay for the hospital stay. But their request was refused.
Ms. Xu, 43, used to work at the Nu'erhe textile mill in Jinzhou City. She was arrested by the Jinzhou 610 Office on January 16, 2013.
Ms. Zhou and Ms. Wang were arrested on the evening of July 23, 2013, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs.
