(Minghui.org) My family runs a supermarket and our living quarters are in the same building. Next to our business is a restaurant.
One day in March, after the chief chef switched on the cooker and put a ladle of cooking oil in the wok. He went to do something in the back room and forgot about it. When the staff realized the kitchen was on fire, the blaze had already engulfed the entire kitchen. Everyone was in shock and didn't know what to do. They ran out and yelled into my store: “Hurry up, call someone! There's a fire!”
I was running the cash register at the time. When I heard the yelling outside I ran out and saw the restaurant engulfed in flames. I immediately ran back to the supermarket and told my husband to turn off all the electricity switches and ran out again. The flames became fiercer and engulfed the restaurant's roof. Then the door and window panes shattered into pieces from the heat. A motorbike by the road side was also burned. I was so scared that my face turned white and I was shivering all over and couldn't speak. For a while, I completely forgot to do what a practitioner should do: not be moved and ask for Master's help.
The restaurant and our supermarket were built at the same time and shared the same roof, with wooden frames and an asphalt felt liner. There was also a plastic sheet covering the roof. Then I heard someone yelling out, “There are gas cylinders inside!” I came to my senses and told people to evacuate and keep away from the area.
Our store was also filled with black smoke and I couldn't see anything. I didn't know if our store had caught fire or the smoke was from next door. I thought: “That's it. All our efforts and hard work for decades have now come to nothing.” Just then, I saw my husband putting our valuables into a plastic bag and he urged me to get out quickly. Suddenly, I remembered I was a Dafa disciple. I asked him to leave first and said there wouldn't be any problem.
I rushed inside and put a set of Dafa books and Zhuan Falun into a big travel bag and took it to a safe place. I burst into tears and asked Master for help: “Master, I beg you for help. Please stop the fire from coming this way. Please prevent the gas cylinders from exploding!”
The fire continued burning for nearly twenty minutes before two fire engines arrived. It took them over half an hour to put out the fire.
The restaurant was beyond recognition, with nothing left except for a deformed fridge and six gas cylinders, two of them were already leaking.
Surprisingly, our supermarket remained completely intact!
Many onlookers said, “It's so scary! The fire was so fierce!” An old lady in her late 70s said this was the second time she saw a building on fire. It was terrifying. Many people were worried about our store and thought it wouldn't survive. A neighbor lady came to me after the fire and said, “You were so fortunate that the supermarket wasn't on fire. It would have been such a big loss! You have been rewarded with good for being a kindhearted person.” I couldn't hold back my tears and said to Master in my heart: “Master, thank you! Thank you, Master! You are so compassionate!”
Neighbors and friends all came into our supermarket to check if everything was fine. They walked around and couldn't see any damage. They all said emotionally, “You're so fortunate, so blessed!”
People were surprised that the fire was so fierce but it seemed to refuse to come our way. The flames went upwards and out to the street, but kept away from us. Our store was next to it, but nothing was damaged, and there was not even a mark. It's incredible!
A neighbor woman knew that I practice Falun Gong. She said, “I've seen fires before, but nothing like this one! You're really extraordinary. You could suppress the fire by just sitting inside. I truly admire you.”
I smiled to everyone and said, “How could I suppress the fire? It's my Master who protected our building. We should be grateful to my Master!”
Later, many fellow practitioners came to my house and they were all moved to tears by the scene. Our 300-square-meter store was intact and there was no damage to the goods worth between 400,000 to 500,000 yuan. There was only a bit of smoke smell for a few days, but nothing was damaged, and there was not even any dust.
I wrote to my elder sister about the incident. She wrote back and said, “I was crying as I was reading your letter. I shouted repeatedly in my heart: Thank you, revered Master! You are so compassionate!”
I couldn't hold back tears as I was writing this sharing article. I don't know how to express my gratitude to Master in words. I will only be diligent and more diligent in cultivation and do well the three things and return home with Master upon consummation.
