(Minghui.org) Mr. Peng Ming from Huainan City, Anhui Province, was arrested on November 11, 2013, and has since been detained in the Huainan City Detention Center. The authorities recently tried to prosecute and indict him.
When Mr. Peng walked out of his rental apartment at 7:00 a.m. on November 11, 2013, he saw several people standing in front of a car. One of them asked if he was Peng Ming. After confirming his identity, they arrested him. They were officers from the criminal squad of the Xiejiaji Police Department, the Xiejiaji Police Station, and the Xiejiaji District Domestic Security Division. The man who gave the order for his arrest was Fan Chun, captain of the Xiejiaji District Domestic Division.
The officers took Mr. Peng's keys and went into his apartment without his consent to search it. They confiscated his laptop computer, printer, and other personal belongings. Mr. Peng was interrogated at the Xiejiaji Police Station. That afternoon, he was forced to have a physical exam, and that night he was locked in the Huainan City Detention Center.
After Mr. Peng had been incarcerated for 37 days, Fan Chun and Zhang Pengcheng, captains of the Xiejiaji District Domestic Security Division, gave Mr. Peng his arrest warrant and ordered him to sign it. Mr. Peng refused.
The Xiejiaji District Procuratorate delivered a notice on February 25, 2014, which stated that Mr. Peng's case would be handed to the Huainan City Procuratorate, and that he would be indicted on March 28. As of this report, Mr. Peng had not received any notice of indictment.
