An Additional 2,257 People Signed a Petition Calling for the Release of Falun Gong Practitioners in Qinhuangdao

(Minghui.org) Many people in China are now standing up for those that are being wronged and illegally detained, especially Falun Gong practitioners.

An additional 2,257 people signed a petition calling for the release of 16 practitioners who have been held in Qinhuangdao Detention Center since their arrests around June 10, 2013, bringing the total number of signatures to 7,241. 4,984 had signed by January 13, 2014.

Among the arrested was Ms. Pang Shuyue, an attorney with the Haili Law Office in Qinhuangdao City. The authorities also canceled her license, preventing her from practicing law.

Others arrested on June 10, 2013, included Ms. Zhang Xiaojie, a lecturer from the Advanced Technologist Institute in Qinhuangdao, and seven practitioners who worked at the Railway Shipping Company of the Qingang Group. Zhao Guohua from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, who was visiting Qinhuangdao was also arrested.

The 16 practitioners who have been arrested and detained are: Pang Shuyue, Lian Baochang, Gao Jihong, Li Xueying, Hua Zhikai, Zhang Xiaojie, Zhao Guohua, Wang Xin, Li Lili, Wang Yong, Zhang Xingang, Wang Yongzhen, Ye Suxia, Sun Guozhong, Zhang Shuzhen, and Bo Changcheng.
