Ms. Fan Minglan Describes Torture by Police and Guards

March 05, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Jilin Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Fan Minglan, who has been tortured by police and guards, described her ordeals to a Minghui correspondent.

She introduced herself and said that she had benefited from Falun Gong since she began practicing in June 1997, before recounting details of what she went through.

“I was arrested in February 15, 2011, when I visited a fellow practitioner. I was taken to the Helong City Police Department first, and then to the Guangming Police Station. The officers ransacked my home. I was interrogated by four-person teams who took turns for two days and nights, while depriving me of sleep.

“Officer Gao Zhihua beat and slapped me with a slipper after he hurt his hand slapping me. He also grabbed me by my hair. Officer Li Jingzhu and another officer handcuffed my hands behind my back, then pulled my hands up and kicked my back. I was transferred to the Helong Detention center two days later.

“I developed symptoms of severe heart problems in the detention center and was released on medical parole. I was taken to a brainwashing center in March 2011, where we were forced to watch videos maligning Falun Dafa all day long. The employees threatened that we would be forced to attend the next brainwashing session if we did not renounce Falun Gong, and would then be sent to prison.

“I later noticed that my right leg was much thinner than my left leg, and I leaned to one side when I walked. I was released on April 23.”

Arrested on Tiananmen Square

“I was previously arrested on Tiananmen Square when I went to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in October 2000. Police from Yanji City took me back to the Xiaoyingzi Police Station.

“One of the officials said, 'How dare you go to Beijing? I'll teach you a lesson.' Director Xue beat me and locked me in solitary confinement for five days. I was later transferred to the Yanji Detention Center and held for a month, then sentenced to serve three years at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp.

“I was forced to work from 3:00 a.m to midnight. Practitioners were forbidden from talking, and only rarely allowed to take showers. We were verbally abused if we didn't meet the work quotas and shocked with an electric baton by guard Wang. I was released from Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp on medical parole after serving four months.”
