Over 12 Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested Within Two Weeks in Fujian Province

March 26, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Fujian Province, China

(Minghui.org) Wide-scale arrests of Falun Gong practitioners in Fujian Province are another example that the persecution is ongoing. Around 12 practitioners have been illegally arrested since February 21, 2014. The practitioners are being held at various detention centers.

Another three practitioners from Xiamen were tried, but no verdict has been reached. The second trial is scheduled on March 10.

Ms. Yang Shifen Arrested for Talking about Falun Gong in Public

Ms. Yang has been consistently harassed and government personnel arrested one of her daughters. Her home was also ransacked. She was recently arrested on the morning of February 23, 2014, for talking about the persecution of Falun Gong in public. She was sent to the Jiulongshan Detention Center in Shishi.

Several Hubin Police Station officers went to Ms. Yang's home in the early afternoon of that same day. Ms. Yang's husband is illiterate and the officers claimed that Ms. Yang had asked them to go there. They started to search their home without showing identification. The family's personal belongings were confiscated along with posters of the founder of Falun Gong and a copy of Zhuan Falun . Many family photos were also taken. The officers did not answer when Ms. Yang's daughters asked them their names.

Three more officers returned to the home that evening. The police showed the family a piece of paper titled, “Inspection Permit” and searched around further. Ms. Yang's daughter said: “Leave your names if you have nothing to hide!” However, they still would not tell the family their names.

The persecutors of Falun Gong practitioners in China fear that their names will be published on the Minghui website in association with their crimes.

Ms. Lin's son works at the Detention Center No. 2 of Fuzhou, and it is believed this is why Ms. Lin was sent to cell No. 103 at Minhou County Detention Center.

Ms. Lin was followed by over two dozen Domestic Security Division police from Gulou District for several days prior to the arrest.

Ms. Zhang Shuilian was arrested at home in Youlanyuan, near Jinshanrongcheng Plaza. The police from the Fuzhou Domestic Security Division and local Jinshan Police Station carried out the arrest. Three Practitioners Tried in Xiamen

The Siming District Court in Xiamen tried Ms. Zhu Fengling, Ms. Li Huiying and Ms. Guo Fengjie on March 4, 2014, for having Falun Gong materials in their homes. The practitioners hired three lawyers from the most northeastern provinces of China. Fujian is one of the most southern provinces. Because the three men do not have family in the area, their families would be free of harassment from authorities while the attorneys represented practitioners of Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhu, in her 30s, is from Heilongjiang Province. She works as a manager in a large company in Xiamen. A dozen officers from the Xiamen 610 Office, the Domestic Security Group and the Siming District Police Department arrested Ms. Zhu and ransacked her home on May 22, 2013.
