Three Falun Gong Practitioners from Guizhou Province Put on Trial

March 18, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Guizhou Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Dai Qinyi, 49; Ms. Liu Kaixiu, 62; and Ms. Zhang Qinghui, 75, from Jinsha County in the Bijie District of Guizhou Province were arrested on November 16, 2013, when they were seen distributing Falun Gong materials in the Jinsha area. They were taken to the Chengdong Police Station and tried on February 20, 2014. The judge said the verdict would be announced at a later date.

Homes Ransacked and Personal Belongings Confiscated

When they arrested her, the police kicked Ms. Zhang until she fell down and twisted her arm behind her back. The other two practitioners were also treated harshly during the arrest.

Ms. Dai and Ms. Liu were taken to the Jingsha Detention Center, where they have been held ever since. Ms. Zhang was released the next morning because she appeared ill. Officials from the Jinsha Procuratorate then interrogated her on two later occasions.

The police confiscated about 200 truth clarification brochures from the practitioners during the arrest. They later broke into Ms. Liu's home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, pictures of Master Li Hongzhi, copies of Minghui Weekly and Zhengjian Weekly , and 100 Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Similar items were also confiscated from Ms. Zhang's home.

Ms. Dai's sister went to the authorities after Ms. Dai's arrest to ask them why her sister was arrested and to find out which law states that practicing Falun Gong is illegal. No one answered her.

In the middle of December, Ms. Dai's sister met with two plainclothes officers from the domestic security division, who claimed that they were sent by the Bijie City Police Department. One of them was very rude and left after cursing Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. The other one said, “The Procuratorate approved the arrests. The case has already been transferred to the Procuratorate, so get ready to hire a lawyer.”

Ms. Dai's sister went to the Procuratorate again on January 7, 2014. Procurator Wang Xingyu told her that her sister's case had been received on December 31, 2013, which was not the same date she was given by officials at the domestic security division. When she tried to ask further questions, head of the prosecution section Guan Jing said, “I don't need to tell you anything. You don't have the right to ask about this.”

On January 29, Ms. Dai's family received notification that the three practitioners would be tried in the Jinsha court on February 20, 2014.

Ms. Dai Demoted for Practicing Falun Gong

Ms. Dai once taught at the Jinsha First Middle School. She was later transferred to the propaganda department of the Jinsha County Party Committee. Her husband and son are doctors in the People's Hospital of Jinsha. Before Ms. Dai started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, she was very weak and suffered from many illnesses, including gastroptosis and chronic enteritis. She had to go to the hospital almost every month.

After practicing Falun Gong, all of Ms. Dai's illnesses soon disappeared and she became very healthy. She was able to do almost all of the housework and took care of her husband and child for more than ten years. She followed the principles of Truthfulness -Compassion-Forbearance in her daily life and took good care of her parents and in-laws. She was recognized as a good person who always thought of others before herself.

However, she has been persecuted since 1999 when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) banned Falun Gong. The government departments that have persecuted Ms. Dai are the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of Guizhou Province, the 610 Office, police department, domestic security division, her local police station and community committee, and the Jinsha Party Committee where she once worked.

In 2005, Ms. Dai was demoted from her government job in the propaganda department of the Jinsha CCP Committee to a lower paid position at the Jinsha library because she practiced Falun Gong. She was pressured many times to give up her belief

Last year, officials from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of Guizhou Province and Jinsha County tried to pressure her in to going to a brainwashing center, but she refused to go.
