(Minghui.org) Since the introduction of Falun Dafa in 1992, many Dafa practitioners have raised children, and/or became grandparents. Some of them are busy taking care of their grandchildren and doing all the household chores. Some enjoy being grandparents so much that they shoulder the responsibilities of their adult children. But as practitioners, problems may arise from the sentimental attachment to family.
Master said, “There is a criterion, however, that the life prolonged beyond your predestined time to live is completely reserved for your practice. If your mind goes wrong a little bit, your life will be in danger because your lifetime should have long been over. You will have such a restriction until you reach Beyond-Triple-World-Fa cultivation. After that, one will be in another state.” (Zhuan Falun)
I remember several elderly female practitioners whose lives were taken away by the old forces. Besides them, there are others who suffer from sickness karma or who are in precarious situations.
Practitioner A was in her 60s. She became ill, was admitted to the hospital, and died shortly after. This surprised us all because there were no signs of sickness karma, and she seemed to be diligent about doing the three things. She lived with her son's family. She took care of her grandson, did the chores around the house, and helped her daughter with the chores throughout the week. However, in this way, she neglected her responsibilities as a practitioner.
Practitioner B and C both live with their adult children. Not only do these practitioners take care of the chores around the house, but they even give their income to their children. Practitioner B has given tens of thousands of yuan in savings to her grandson. The old forces did not cut her off financially, so she brought it upon herself. A practitioner's income is given by Master to support them and to assist with the Fa-rectification. These two practitioners have now had sickness karma for a long time. Although some practitioners have tried to help them, these practitioners have been unable to break through the old forces' arrangements.
Practitioner D adores her adult children and grandchildren. Anything the grandchildren do make her smile and elated. However, her sentimental attachment to family has prevented her from saving sentient beings. Practitioner D is often tired and falls asleep during Fa study. Moreover, her palm is not upright when sending forth righteous thoughts, which could be a sign of a weakening main consciousness.
The semi-divine Chinese culture teaches people to be upright. Confucius also mentioned that parents and children should fulfill their filial responsibilities. But the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has nearly destroyed the ancient Chinese culture and the normal way people should live.
Perhaps as a result of the brainwashing by the CCP culture, many elderly Chinese take care of and raise their grandchildren instead of acting as mentors and guides.
We are practitioners with an important mission. Society is going backwards, and we should put “a stop to its downward slide.” (“Illuminating All,” Hong Yin II)
If our thoughts and actions are not based on the Fa, both the gods and the old forces will see it. Our wrong thoughts and actions will therefore reinforce our attachment to sentimentality and steal away our time from saving sentient beings.
I'm not saying that doing chores and taking care of grandchildren is wrong. I just wish to kindly remind practitioners not to take over all of your children's responsibilities, which could allow a loophole for the old forces to take advantage.
This is my humble understanding. Please kindly point out anything that is not based on the Fa. Heshi.
