(Minghui.org) I've decided to write this article, after some hesitation, hoping that fellow practitioners can benefit from it.

One veteran practitioner in our area personally attended Master's Fa-lectures in the early days. He's quite eloquent and enjoys a certain social status. Because of this, many practitioners like going to his place to chat. He's suffered many hardships during the years since the persecution started. A few years ago, his celestial eye opened. This should be a good thing and it can play a positive role if the practitioner can share with fellow practitioners based on the Fa.

I found however, that as time passed what he said deviated from the Fa more and more. For example, he once told me, “The nine lectures in Zhuan Falun are nine people. Master is not … up there.” I felt a bit tense when he said this. Even he felt that this interpretation was somewhat improper, so he said, “I'm only saying this to you, so that you know,” but I later learned that a number of fellow practitioners had heard this.

The persecution in our area was very severe at that time, and every few days we heard that fellow practitioners had been illegally arrested. I was scared and also worried that my cultivation state should be better. So whenever I talked with this practitioner, I always held some human attachments, seeking to find out “what level I was on” and “if I had been left behind.” I felt excited and curious each time I heard this practitioner tell me what he saw with his celestial eye, as if I had obtained some “genuine secret.” In fact, the whole situation was very dangerous.

After his wife (also a practitioner) passed away, he placed his wife's portrait next to Master's and paid respect to both. This was most shocking. Many fellow practitioners pointed this out to him, but he said, “Up there my wife is a great Bodhisattva, guarding the Fa. She's standing next to Master. How can you say she's dead? You can't look at things with a human mind.”

Two years later, this once healthy practitioner was suddenly hospitalized and his health deteriorated quickly. He didn't speak much and began taking medicine. Last year, he completely lost the ability to take care of himself. He was in a daze all day long and couldn't talk. When fellow practitioners went to see him, he kept weeping.

Why was he dragged into such a state by sickness karma? I think it was because he took what he saw as truth, the absolute truth, and made casual comments about the Fa and Master. He placed his wife's portrait next to Master's. The old forces grabbed on and used this as excuses to persecute him. Those who went to ask him for information are also responsible. If we hadn't gone to ask him about this and that, if instead we had rectified the situation according to the Fa, he may have quickly returned to his senses and prevented his decline.

There are still practitioners in our area who are very interested in practitioners whose celestial eyes are open, and try to get “guidance” from them in their understanding and in what they do. Every step we take is a test of whether we “regard the Fa as teacher.” If we fail to walk our paths righteously, we'll come across issues sooner or later. I don't mean to criticize fellow practitioners, but there are still many fellow practitioners in our area who appear to be rather numb and indifferent after such a serious lesson presented itself.

There is also a practitioner who, after his celestial eye opened and he saw that some fellow practitioners had fallen, offered to bear their karma. When he saw the evil charging towards Master, he stood in the front to block them. He subsequently became like someone with a mental disorder. Even so, some fellow practitioners still flattered him. We should always regard the Fa as teacher no matter what we see. Those who are ruined are often those who think they are “extraordinary,” and who are flattered by others.

Master said in “20th Anniversary Fa Teaching,”

“As for how massive the cosmos ultimately is, suppose we considered a massive universe that consists of a trillion layers to be one domain, and then grouped a trillion of these one-trillion-layer domains together—we could then call this trillion one-trillion-layered domains a particle of air. Such particles permeate the conference hall here. Although that amounts to a massive number of universes, this is still but a small, insignificant particle in just one dimension of the universe.”

What do we need to ask those whose celestial eyes are open? What one can see through his celestial eye is only what has been arranged for him to see. Everything happens for a reason, and what we see is rather limited. We must carefully understand and act according to the Fa throughout our cultivation. One cannot see what hasn't been arranged for him to see and we must not become attached to what we've seen.
