Three Women from Benxi City Facing Trial

December 13, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) July 20, 2014, marked 15 years since the Chinese Communist Party began its official campaign of persecution against Falun Gong. Just before the anniversary, more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners in Benxi City were illegally arrested. The police have already submitted the cases of three of them to the local procuratorate. All of them are being detained at the Benxi City Detention Center.

Ms. Bian Lihua had previous problems walking before she was arrested. Her legs could not straighten after she was persecuted for three years in a labor camp. She now has unbearable pain from her waist down. She was tortured again in the Benxi Detention Center.

Her lawyer was unable to speak to her on November 24, after spending an entire morning waiting in the detention center. The excuse given by the detention center officials was that they could not find a wheelchair to bring her to the meeting. Her lawyer had requested multiple times for the detention center not to torture her, and for the procuratorate to release her, but without success.

Ms. Cui Zhaoling was arrested on July 17, 2014. The police first arrested her husband at home. They took him to the Jinshan Police Station, and threatened him until he mentally collapsed and disclosed the location of Ms. Cui Zhaoling. The police then arrested Ms. Cui at her mother's home. The procuratorate has already submitted her case to the court.

Ms. Jiao Hong was arrested on July 17, 2014, by the Xihu Police Station. Her case has also been submitted to the court.

The Benxi City Detention Center has been notorious for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. In July 2014, practitioner Gao Chong became paralyzed after he was severely beaten by a guard from the detention center. In August 2014, practitioner Li Chunzheng died after spending more than one year at the detention center.
