(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 4 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Shuxiang and Ms. Yang Ping Arrested

Ms. Yu Shuxiang was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on the morning of October 24, 2014. The police took Falun Gong books and extorted 1,000 yuan in cash.

Ms. Yang Ping was arrested on November 2, 2014. The police took her computer and Falun Gong books.

2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Critically Ill Ms. Zhang Jie Denied Medical Parole

Ms. Zhang Jie was taken to the Nangou Detention Center by Zhang Zhongsheng, an officer from the Heping Police Station. The detention center officials tried six times to send Ms. Zhang to Liaoning Women's Prison. Each time, the prison authorities refused to admit her on the grounds that she failed the physical exam. She was eventually admitted to the prison and has remained hospitalized ever since.

Ms. Zhang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She has become very weak. Her family asked for medical parole, but the officials still haven't responded.

3. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Chunxia Denied Clothes Sent in by Her Son

Ms. Xu Chunxia was arrested in December 2013 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong by officers from the Wangjia Police Station in Shenyang. She has been held in the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center. Her son brought clothes to the detention center for her but the officials refused to take anything.

4. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Yaoyuan Faces Trial

Ms. Qi Yanyuan is facing trial on November 11, 2014.

5. [Lushun, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Jiajun Arrested

Mr. Liu Jiajun was tricked into leaving his home and arrested by three undercover police officers on October 29, 2014.

6. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Ms. Lu Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Lu, about 50, was arrested on October 29, 2014. Her home was ransacked. She was held in the Weizigou Detention Center. Ms. Lu and Ms. Shi Bin were transferred to the Fenjin Brainwashing Center on October 30, 2014.

7. [Yanbian Prefecture, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Shufen in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yang Shufen from the Bajiazi Forestry Bureau was arrested and taken to the Dacheng Brainwashing Center in Yanji on the morning of October 31, 2014. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Yanbian Political and Legal Affairs Committee and Zhang Wenxin, head of the Bajiazi Forestry Bureau 610 Office, and others.

8. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Tan Jigui Arrested and Beaten

The police arrested Mr. Tan Jigui on the afternoon of October 27, 2014. He was severely beaten by the police. Blood kept gushing out of a head wound. He is currently being held in the Jiujiang City Detention Center.

9. [Shan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Ruigang, Ms. Lian Cuilan and Practitioner Xiaomei Arrested

Mr. Zhu Ruigang, Ms. Lian Cuilan and a female practitioner, Xiaomei, were arrested by officers from the Shan County 610 Office and the domestic security division on October 28, and October 29, 2014. They are being held in the Shan County Detention Center.

Mr. Zhu was tortured during the interrogation on the evening of October 31. He is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

10. [Yongchang County, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Shumei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shumei, in her 60s, was arrested on the evening of October 20, 2014 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The police took her back home with them for an illegal search. They took Falun Gong books, four cell phones, and informational materials about Falun Gong, along with other items. Because she had symptoms of high blood pressure and a heart condition, she was allowed to return home on bail.

11. [ Lulong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Kejing Arrested

Ms. Yang Kejing was arrested on the morning of October 28, 2014 while telling people about Falun Gong with another practitioner. The police searched Ms. Yang's home and extorted 3,000 yuan from her. She was released that night.

12. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Chuanju and Mr. Wang Xianxue Tried

Junan County Court held two trials of Ms. Wang Chuanju and Mr. Wang Xianxue (not related to each other) on October 31, 2014.

The trial of Ms. Wang took place in the morning. The prosecutor charged her with “using a cult organization to undermine law enforcement.” Her attorneys argued that there is no legal basis for the persecution and Ms. Wang's telling people about Falun Gong is her freedom of belief. The trial lasted two hours and the judge didn't issue a verdict.

Mr. Wang Xianxue was tried in the afternoon. The court didn't inform his family about the trial.

Ms. Wang and Mr. Wang are currently held at Linyi City Detention Center and Junan County Detention Center, respectively.
