(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners joined the 2014 America's Parade organized by the United War Veterans Council on November 11. The parade on Manhattan’s 5th Avenue, between 26th & 52nd, is the largest Veteran's Day event in the United States. The event's official website boasts over 600,000 spectators.

One may ask, what do Falun Gong practitioners have in common with veterans? According to Yi Rong, coordinator of the Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) entry, the United War Veterans Council was very moved by practitioners' spirit of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and their persistent and peaceful resistance to the brutal persecution in China.

As they passed the main stage, the Master of Ceremonies commented, “The Falun Dafa entry is wonderful! Beautiful! Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is good!”

Falun Gong practitioners presented banners that conveyed the tenets of the practice – Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. “Celestial maidens” dressed in Tang dynasty costumes with Chinese style lanterns and a waist drum troupe provided another layer of traditional culture and joy to the procession.

The theme for this year’s Parade is “Land of the Free / Home of the Brave,” in honor of the 200th Anniversary of the writing of the “Star Spangled Banner” (1814 ~ 2014).
