(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) established the 610 Office in the late 1990s to spearhead the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners are arrested under false pretenses, and families are rarely notified, since the CCP dictates its control throughout all levels of government.
Brainwashing centers are one layer of the torture system used by 610 Offices to break the spirits of practitioners. The CCP occasionally renames this layer in an attempt to hide it from the global public. Brainwashing centers, forced labor camps, and recently, “legal education centers,” are all parts of the inhuman torture system. Their track record suggests that instead of eliminating the mistreatment, they simply rename it.
Falun Gong is a peaceful practice that focuses on Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, yet practitioners are forcibly arrested from their homes, their jobs, and even in public. The torture is brutal, with no consideration for age, gender, or physical condition. Below are a few examples that have recently been reported.
Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Shen Xuewu, Mr. Zhao Hu, and Ms. Cui Hai were arrested in 2012 and detained in brainwashing camps. They were unlawfully tried in Hanjiang District Court in Wuhan on Friday, December 20, 2013.
Mr. Shen Xuewu was a professor at Hubei Engineering University, Wuhan Institute of Military Economy, and Central China Normal University. Mr. Shen was imprisoned many times because of his belief in Falun Dafa, which is being persecuted in China. He was subjected to brainwashing, beatings, force-feeding, and sleep deprivation during the past 14 years.
Mr. Shen was arrested most recently on November 13, 2012, by officers from the Wuhan City Police Department. They searched his apartment and confiscated his personal belongings. He was locked in Hubei Province Brainwashing Center where he suffered inhumane torture.
Mr. Shen was transferred to Wuhan City Second Detention Center on December 31, 2012, where he was held for five months. He was then transferred to Jianghan District Detention Center in Wuhan where the persecution continued. The Wuhan City Police Department notified Mr. Wu's family that he was facing three to five years in prison because he didn't cooperate at the detention center.
The police officer who tortured Mr. Shen is Cai Heng. Cai works at the Domestic Security Division of Wuhan City Police Department. His cell phone is +86-13971015811.
Mr. Zhao Hu, from Wuhan City, began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. He was a graduate student at Wuhan University at the time. He has been arrested and detained many times during the years of the persecution.
He was taken to Etouwan Brainwashing Center in the Qiaokou District, Wuhan City while he was a university professor at the Tongji School of Medicine, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He was later incarcerated in a detention center, tortured in Hewan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan for two years, and fired from his job without explanation.
Mr. Zhao was arrested at his home by officers from three locations, including the Guangzhou City 610 Office, on October 26, 2012. He was returned to Wuhan and secretly incarcerated in the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuchang District.
Without notice, Mr. Zhao was moved to Wuhan City Second Detention Center on December 31, 2012. He was transferred to the Jianghan District Detention Center just five months later, where the gruesome brutality continued.
Officers from the Wuhan City Police Department Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Cui Hai, 64, on October 17, 2012. Ms. Cui has been incarcerated and tortured for over a year.
She was locked in the Erdaopeng Brainwashing Center in Jianghan District for a week, then transferred to Hubei Province Brainwashing Center for two months. She was force fed, injected with nerve-damaging drugs, viciously beaten, deprived of sleep, sprayed with cold water in winter temperatures, and had her nose burned by cigarettes smoke during that time.
On December 31, 2012, Ms. Cui was transferred to Wuhan City First Detention Center for a month, before being taken to Ankang Hospital in Wuhan. The so-called “hospital” is in fact the Drug Rehabilitation Center used by the Wuhan City Police Department. She is still locked in that “hospital” with other drug abusers to this day.
Ms. Cui hired a lawyer in February 2013 to press charges against those who tortured her. The authorities didn't respond to the charges and intensified the persecution. Her lawyer filed the charges again on October 10, 2013.
