Additional Persecution News from China – August 13, 2013 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Yuzhen Arrested

Ms. Hu Yuzhen was arrested by three officers from the Zhonghualu Police Station at noon on July 31, 2013. Her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Han Minggang Arrested

Mr. Han Minggang from Laiyang City was arrested at Jinan Train Station in the beginning of August 2013.

3. [Guiyang, Guizhou Province] Ms. Lang Dafen and Ms. Chen Zhengping Detained

Ms. Lang Dafen and Ms. Chen Zhengping were arrested on July 28, 2013, and sent to the Nanming District Detention Center.

4. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Mr. Kang Fuchun Arrested

Mr. Kang Fuchun was arrested at work by two plainclothes policemen on August 9, 2013. His whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Yao Guiyun Arrested

Ms. Yao Guiyun was arrested around August 7, 2013.

6. [Leting County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Xueyou Sent to Prison

Mr. Li Xueyou was sentenced to four years in prison. He was sent to the Jidong Prison at the end of June 2013.

7. [Feixi County, Anhui Province] Ms. Wei Gongying and Ms. Zuo Chuanying Detained

Ms. Wei Gongying and Ms. Wu Zuoying were arrested by officers from the Feixi 610 Office while talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers' market on July 30, 2013. They are being held in the Feixi Detention Center.

8. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Hu Baijuan, Ms. Sun Yumei and Ms. Xiao Binhua were sentenced to prison by the Datong District Court on June 26, 2013. Ms. Hu and Ms. Sun were sentenced to three years and six months in prison, while Ms. Xiao was sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Hu and Ms. Xiao were sent to the Harbin Women's Prison on August 7, 2013.

9. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Jixiu Arrested

Ms. Zhang Jixiu, 59, from Xiaxue Village, Gaozhuang Town, was arrested while posting Falun Gong banners in Yinjiawa, Daigu Town, Mengyin County at noon on July 20, 2013. Officers from the Daigu Town Police Station made the arrest. Ms. Zhang was released that night, after police extorted 10,000 yuan from her family.

10. [Lixin County, Anhui Province] Ms. Pang Suping Sent to Prison

Ms. Pang Suping was transferred to the Haozhou City Detention Center from the Lixin County Detention Center by officers from the Lixin Domestic Security Division in early July 2013. She was then transferred to the women's prison in Su County, Anhui Province.

11. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Jiqin Detained

Ms. Liu Jiqin from Yangshulin Township was arrested on August 10, 2013. She is being held in the Wugongli Detention Center in Nongan County.

12. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Ms. Zheng Shuwen Arrested

Ms. Zheng Shuwen was arrested by officers from the Guangchang Police Station on August 6, 2013. She is being held in the Tangshan Detention Center.

13. [Changli County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Ying Arrested

Ms. Zhang Ying was arrested by officers from the Shilipu Township Police Station when she went to Shilipu Township to talk to people about Falun Gong in mid-July 2013. She was released after police extorted 500 yuan from her.

14. [Meihekou, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Hongbo Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Wang Hongbo was recently taken to a brainwashing center.

15. [Beijing] Ms. Yan Guiyun Detained

Ms. Yan Guiyun from Yanqing County was arrested at work by police in Haidian District on the afternoon of July 18, 2013. She is being held in the Haidian District Detention Center.

16. [Chongqing] Ms. Xin Li Arrested

Ms. Xin Li, 27, from Heilongjiang Province, was recently arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong in Chongqing.

17. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Dongmei Sent to Brainwashing Center

Officers from the Dashi Police Department and the Dashi 610 Office arrested Ms. He Dongmei and ransacked her home on August 6, 2013. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and her computer. Ms. He was sent to the Xishan Brainwashing Center in Nanchong.

18. [Xinganmeng, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Liang Zuojuan and Her Husband Arrested

Chief of the Arxan Domestic Security Division, Chen Guodong, led people to ransack Ms. Liang Zuojuan's home in the early morning of August 10, 2013. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials and arrested Ms. Liang and her husband. The couple were held at the Arxan Police Department.
