September 16, 2013 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Sichuan Province, China

(Minghui.org) A monk from Pingwu County of Sichuan Province was arrested at the Xinjiang Airport in July because he practices Falun Dafa. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Zhou Yong, 38, was the abbot of a Buddhist temple in Pingwu County for many years. He became a monk at age 8. Because of being modest, prudent and righteous, he has been highly praised by many people.

Mr. Zhou started practicing Falun Dafa in May 2012, following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Three or four months later, he resigned from the abbot position and went to Mount Qingcheng.

In April or May of this year, Mr. Zhou went to Xinjiang. He traveled to Pakistan in July. Upon his return to Xinjiang, he was arrested at the airport.

We believe that Mr. Zhou’s arrest was orchestrated by the Xinjiang Autonomous Region 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and police organizations. We ask people in the know to provide us with information about his arrest and whereabouts.
