(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has done many despicable things since it began persecuting Falun Gong 14 years ago. For instance, some young and elderly practitioners' ages have been altered to justify their persecution.
Mr. Qin Yueming and his wife Wang Xiuqing are Falun Gong practitioners in Jinshantun District of Yichun, Heilongjiang Province. Their daughter Qin Rongqian is also a practitioner.
Jinshantun District police officers arrested Mr. Qin and Mrs. Wang in May 2002. Rongqian held onto her father in panic and wouldn't let go. Officer Kang Kai pulled her off, knocked her down and then beat her, stomping on both her head and hands. The police arrested Rongqian along with her parents.
Mr. Qin was tortured in the Jinshantun District Police Station, resulting in fractures to his leg and ribs. He was then thrown in prison for ten years. An officer grabbed Mrs. Wang's hair and knocked her head against the floor tiles, knocking her unconsciousness. Fourteen-year-old Rongqian was interrogated. She was then forced to stand for 24 hours and not allowed food. The police also slapped her in the face.
In order to meet the requirements for detention, the police altered her age on the official paperwork to 18, then forced her to sign the document. Rongqian was detained for a month.
Many elderly Falun Gong practitioners experienced more severe persecution after their ages were altered.
Mrs. Yang Yufeng, a 70-year-old practitioner from Jincheng, Shanxi Province, was arrested on October 10, 2010. Police officers took turns interrogating her, and then took her to a detention center. The detention center wouldn't admit her because her age exceeded the limit for detention. The Domestic Security Division of Jincheng then altered her age on official documents to 69. She was eventually admitted to the detention center.
Mr. Wang Wenfu, a practitioner from Beipiao, Liaoning Province, was taken to a forced labor camp on April 3, 2001. The 610 Office and Beipiao Police Department staff altered his age from 68 to 60, so that he would be admitted into the forced labor camp without question.
The persecutors typically attempt to hide these actions. Some practitioners didn't find out about their age alteration until after their release.
For example, Ms. Wu Congmei, a practitioner in Huili County, Sichuan Province, was summoned for no apparent reason to the police station on Jan. 28, 2001 by officers Pu Maohua and Li Yongkun. Ms. Wu was taken to the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp, where she was held until December 13, 2002. Following her release, she found out that the police had recorded her age as four years younger so that they could place her in the forced labor camp without objection.
Ms. Xiao Shufen, a practitioner in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province, was taken to a detention center, where she was abused and lost her good health. She was then taken to the Women's Prison of Heilongjiang Province in June, 2003. The prison refused to admit her due to her poor health, she was kept in custody. Li Changqing of the 610 Office and Yu Changlong, detention center director, altered Ms. Xiao's age from 63 to 58, and then took her to prison a few months later. Ms. Xiao eventually died in the prison on June 8, 2006.
Ms. Hu Yanshun, an 81-year-old practitioner in Suining, Sichuan Province, was sentenced on April 23, 2009 to nine years in Longquan Women's Prison of Chengdu. Daying County judicial office staff changed her birth date from 1932 to 1938 before the trial. Ms. Hu wrote to the court regarding her age alteration, but the court never replied. After years of persecution in prison, she is now suffering from severe memory loss.
Approximately 140 Falun Gong practitioners were imprisoned in the Hohhot Women's Forced Labor Camp before 2009; more than 50 were between 60 and 70 years old, yet still subjected to severe persecution. Jail officials altered their ages by 14 to 20 years younger in order to extend their working hours. They were forced to work over 15 hours daily, and allowed only three hours of sleep.
Altering ages has become one of the regime's methods to persecute innocent Falun Gong practitioners.
