(Minghui.org) I joined a project to collect signatures for a petition to “Stop Forced Organ Harvesting from Falun Gong Practitioners in China” last October.

On October 9, I went with other practitioners to Leeds to collect signatures. Among us, there were three practitioners who could speak English. I didn't speak English, so as I was distributing flyers I often asked western practitioners to talk to the people who I thought would sign the petition. I was able collect a few signatures, but I thought I could do a lot better. The three English-speaking practitioners were very busy, so when they were talking to someone else, often people didn't want to wait and would leave.

Afterward, I suddenly realized that although I don't know English, everything was well written on the forms. The information is from DAFOH (Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting) and it is very clear. So I thought, “I will collect signatures face to face with my petition.”

I. Collecting Signatures from People Face to Face

Three days later, another fellow practitioner and I went to collect signatures across the street from a Chinese supermarket. I had organ harvesting flyers, and a petition and I asked people to sign. In four hours 100 English people signed the petition. That day I gained confidence so from then I was able to do it independently.

Our local practitioners usually went out once or twice a week to introduce Falun Gong and clarify the persecution facts, and during those times, I would collect signatures. During other days, I also went out by myself to collect signatures. I usually chose to go to places where there were a lot of people, such as bus stations, plazas, parks, major streets, and so on. When it rained, I would go inside the shops to collect signatures. I would also talk to the shop owners when they are not busy and show them the Petition. Many times they would understand what I was doing and customers would also sign. My families, neighbors, friends, delivery people, and mailmen all signed the petition.

In April 2013, David Kilgour and his team came to the British Parliament to clarify the facts about the forced live organ harvesting. To support this event, the British practitioners again started collecting signatures. Besides participating in the group signature collection activities, I also worked by myself on other days and continued collecting as many signatures as I could.

In June 2013, the DAFOH (Doctors Against Forced Organ harvesting) called for collecting signatures for the United Nations. Leeds practitioners started on June 26, 2013. We have two separate forms, one for the U.N. and the other for the British Parliament, and we asked people to sign both because they were equally important.

If a person didn't quite understand the persecution facts, I would have him look at the flyer. If there were several people, I would give the petitions and flyers to different people, so that everyone was focused on reading the facts. At one point ten people came together and clarifying the facts to them all was very effective. If the people were Chinese, I would encourage them to quit the Chinese Communist Party.

People who already understood the facts became the live media for us. In Manchester's Chinatown, a young man who was on a skateboard signed, and his friend also understood the facts. They yelled and called over ten more friends to sign the petition. A businessman also signed, and then he helped me to inform others. As a result, a dozen more people signed. In Leeds' long distance bus station, a driver signed and he thanked me. Then another driver shook his head and didn't want to sign. The first driver then explained the situation to him and then he signed. The people who were waiting for the bus all heard and saw this and it was made it much quicker for them to sign. Six drivers signed. In Leeds, a young mother learned about the persecution and signed, and also helped her 5-year-old daughter sign. I was touched.

II. Colorful Card for Signature Collection

In order to save people more effectively, I made a small card. I glued pink background paper on the card and wrote “Your signature can save a life.”

When a person still didn't want to sign even after reading the flyer, I would then take out the card, show it to him, and then read it out loud. Many times the person would then be very happy to sign it. I like to use the card instead of talking sometimes as I am worried that some people wouldn't be able to understand me. Sometimes when a person signed the first petition, but hesitated to sign the second one, I would take out the card and read it to them. This would strengthen the person's compassionate thoughts and they would then sign the second petition.

A fellow practitioner told a U.S. practitioner about the card. The U.S. practitioner made a big board and wrote “Stop Organ Harvesting from Falun Gong Practitioners.” She wears this board on her neck when collecting signatures. The effect was very good as when people saw her, they sometimes formed a line to sign.

When people are signing, the atmosphere is very happy. Some English people would ask me to teach them some simple phrases in Chinese. I would teach them how to say “Falun Dafa is good,” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”

We must have a mentality of urgently saving people when we go out to collect signatures. In order to save more people, every day I carefully study the Fa, do the exercises, and send forth righteous thoughts. Before I go out, I always set a goal for myself of the number of signatures I will collect that day. I would only return home when I accomplished the goal. When people are reading the flyer, I always send forth righteous thoughts for them so that they do not miss this precious opportunity.

When we hold events, we can also put the signature board on the table, and many people will come and sign. However, because it is not always obvious, many people will pass by without even noticing it. But if there is also a practitioner holding a signature board, then all the sentient beings will have a better opportunity to be saved.

III. Calling for More Practitioners to Collect Signatures

Divine beings have compassion and wisdom. In this special period of time, they use all kinds of ways to save people. When people understand the facts and sign with their conscience and kindness, they will not necessarily realize that they might be saved because of it. As Dafa practitioners, we are walking on the path to divinity. Clarifying facts and saving sentient beings are our responsibilities and mission. Master has told to us many times that we must save more people and time is moving quickly! As Dafa practitioners we should listen to Master and save more people. All sentient beings are eagerly waiting to be saved.

I enlightened that collecting signatures for DAFOH is another opportunity for Dafa practitioners to save a lot of people. Moreover, if we turn in a million signatures to the U.N. the effect will obviously be better than if we only turn in 100,000 signatures. If practitioners from all over the world could attach greater importance to this, then the effect will definitely be enormous.

Fellow practitioners, please take the petition forms with you every day. When we are taking a bus, walking on the street, going to school or work, and going to shopping, we will always meet people to save.
