(Minghui.org) Korean Falun Gong practitioners and several non-governmental organizations held a rally on July 20, 2013, at Seoul Plaza, to condemn the 14-year ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China and the Chinese Communist regime's crimes of harvesting organs from imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience.

A representative from the Korean Falun Dafa Association read an open letter to Korean President Park Geun-hye. Dafa practitioners hope that President Park will discern the difference between China and the Chinese Communist Party, and stop deporting asylum-seeking Falun Gong practitioners back to China, where they face certain persecution.

Mr. Xu Jingxi, a representative for the North Korea Defectors Human Rights Association, gave a speech at the rally. He said that he used to visit China several times each year, but he has not been able to get a visa from the Chinese Embassy after speaking out for justice for Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Xu said, “I fought for the North Korean defectors, but I didn't dare to speak up for Falun Gong practitioners because I didn't want to offend the Chinese government. But I later realized that if the Chinese Communist Party does not change, then the situation for North Korean defectors won't change either. Falun Gong practitioners have been suffering the same pain as the North Korean defectors. I am a Christian pastor. If I don't speak for Falun Gong, I am not a good pastor.”

Mr. Xu called upon the public to help stop the human rights violations in China.

Mr. Kim Xiangxian, representing the North Korean Human Rights Center, stated, “The economic development of China is an illusion. There is no democracy in China, because the government is afraid of the people. No other government in the world would persecute Falun Gong. If we don't help stop the [Chinese regime's] organ harvesting [of imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners], we are helping the criminals.”

During the rally, to draw attention to the brutality of the persecution, practitioners staged a re-enactment of the tortures that are used on Falun Gong practitioners in China. The non-governmental organization Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting collected signatures from the public, calling for an end to the organ harvesting atrocities. Many citizens were shocked by the severity of the persecution, and many signed the petition.
