(Minghui.org) Division No. 4 of Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province specializes in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Its name was changed from Division No. 3 to No. 4 in 2012. Newly arrived prisoners are also sent to this ward.
Judong Forced Labor Camp has honed the persecution of practitioners to a fine skill. It has a system for monitoring practitioners: Every practitioner is guarded by one to two criminal inmates around the clock.
These inmates record everything that practitioners say and do throughout the day, and hand over the reports to the guards in charge. These inmates have to memorize the monitoring rules, study materials that slander Falun Gong every day, and take regular exams, for which they either receive bonus points or have points deducted.
Guard Ding Hui is infamous for being vicious in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in Ward No. 4.
Ms. Xu Lan, a practitioner from Yancheng, was forced to stand for prolonged periods of time daily. After she got up in the morning, she and the inmates assigned to monitor her went to the so-called “counselling room,” where she would be forced to stand till 2 or 3 a.m. the next day. This torture continued for several months.
Ms. Xu was also not allowed to eat meals in the canteen and had to get permission to do anything, including getting a drink of water, washing herself, using the toilet, etc. She was given very little food, and her requests for more food were repeatedly rejected by the guards.
Ms. Xu was only allowed to sleep just over two hours a day. She was also forced to watch videos that slander Falun Gong.
Even after she was no longer brought to the “counselling room,” she was forced to stand all day long and was not allowed to talk to other prisoners. As a result of malnutrition and mistreatment, she became extremely thin, and her legs and feet were constantly swollen.
Ms. Zhang Huizhu from Wuxi began to practice Falun Gong in 2005. The monitoring inmates and team leader forced her to do physical exercises and then pinched her while did them. She was also forced to stand for long hours. Guard Liu Ye instigated prisoners to torture Ms. Zhang.
Ms. Liu Yuanlan, from Hunan, was introduced to Falun Gong in 2003, while serving a prison term in Hunan for a drug-dealing crime. Falun Gong helped her become a good person.
In the prison, Ms. Liu saw that Falun Gong practitioners were very kind, but were always tortured in some way. She came forward to protect practitioners when they were maltreated. Later, she also started to practice Falun Gong. The prison guards tortured her in many ways in order to force her to give up the practice, but with strong belief in her heart, she remained steadfast.
After being released from prison, she was illegally arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people. She was then incarcerated for 4 years at the Nanjing Women's Prison. She was released in July 2011.
Since her family was doing business in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, she moved there upon her release. In February 2012, she went to a police station in Changzhou to request the return of her picture of the founder of Falun Gong.
The police detained her and threw her into the Judong Women's Forced Labor. When she saw fellow practitioners Xu Lan and Zhang Huizhu being tortured, she repeatedly shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!”
For this, she was locked in a small cell many times. The guards played the Communist Party songs at the highest volume to brainwash her. They then sent her to the “intensive training team,” where practitioners are brutally tortured.
The guards on the “intensive training team” employ inhumane and ruthless methods to try to “transform” practitioners. (Team manager Zheng Qihui was among the most ruthless.) Their means include naked body inspection four times a day and forcing detainees to do physical exercises while naked. The exercise quantity varies based on the mood of those in charge, but usually involves at least 30-50 repetitions The guards also arbitrarily beat practitioners, make them perform prolonged outdoor training, and force them to complete five pages of “thought reports” every day.
Ms. Liu spent the remainder of her term in this unit. She was watched by four assigned inmates and not allowed to talk. A monitoring prisoner stuffed a dirty towel used to clean the floor into her mouth if she tried to speak.
Her term was unlawfully extended for a month. She was finally released on March 5, 2012.
Ms. Li Jun of Nanjing was also detained in this unit. She was sent to the “intensive training team” because the persecutors claimed that her “learning attitude” was not correct. She was cursed at and beaten by the monitoring prisoners, forced to do military-style training on the exercise yard every day, and forced to repeat a fixed movement for a prolonged period of time as a form of torture. She was also subjected to intensive brainwashing every night.
