(Minghui.org) The Ministry of State Security (MSS) in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, collaborates with the public security bureaus that are controlled by the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. These agencies have been rigorously persecuting Falun Gong practitioners since July 20, 1999.

The MSS agents monitor Falun Gong practitioners' online activities and phone calls. They've trained spies to seek out and illegally arrest practitioners, as well as to sabotage the sites where practitioners print Falun Gong informational materials.

Many plainclothes police also monitor and follow whom they consider to be “key” practitioners. The agents often go to practitioners' workplaces to threaten them They never disclose their identities, using fake names instead.

These spies have carried out many arrests of Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale. Below are just a few examples.

On February 25, 2012, MSS agents and police carried out a mass arrest of Falun Gong practitioners in Hebei, Liaoning, and Shandong provinces. Approximately 99 practitioners were harassed, arrested, and had their homes raided.

On December 21, 2011, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Cao Kai and his wife, Ms. Yu Yin, were arrested by two Shijiazhuang City MSS agents (surnames Xu and Liu). The couple's family received a detention notice the next day, stamped with “Ministry of State Security, Shijiazhuang City.”

With much effort, the family located the detention center at the intersection of Huai'an West Road and a road leading to West Gangtou Village. There was no sign outside, the black gate in front of the building was closed, and no personnel could be found. None of the local residents knew about the place. Only a watchtower could be seen from the outside.

On April 24, 2009, MSS agents in Shijiazhuang City arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Lei at his workplace and took him to Suncun police station. Officer Guo Qingliang tortured Mr. Wu by tying him to an iron chair, blindfolding him, cuffing his hands, and proceeding to whip the soles of his feet with an iron stick, which caused severe swelling. He also forbid Mr. Wu from using the toilet.

Mr. Wu was transferred to Nanhuochang Detention Center the next day and detained there for half a month. He was then sent to a forced labor camp for one and a half years.

Around 8 a.m. on August 5, 2008, Mr. Li Haijun, a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhangjiakou City who had been forced to leave home to escape the persecution, and Mr. Chen Kaili, a practitioner from Changde City, stepped out of a supermarket in Changde City. Three plainclothes policemen and three MSS agents from Hebei Province jumped on them and arrested them.

On June 8, 2006, Ms. Qiu Liying, a Falun Gong practitioner from Shijiazhuang, was arrested by a MSS agent from Hebei Province. The agent claimed to have “intercepted vital information.”

Around 9 a.m. on August 7, 2005, Ms. Yang Jinying, a Falun Gong practitioner from an eastern suburb of Baoding City, was arrested by MSS agents when she delivered products to a local food market on her tricycle. She was transferred to Shijiazhuang City and detained at the MSS detention center there.

Around 1 a.m. on August 8, 2005, practitioners Zhi Zhanmin, Wei Haiwu, and Du (surname) from Baoding City were arrested on their way to Mancheng. They were also detained at the MSS detention center in Shijiazhuang.

Around 6 p.m. on April 4, 2004, practitioner Yin Juncai was arrested by MSS agents in Shijiazhuang City. In June 2004, practitioner Ms. Wan Xinhe, in her 20s, from Jing County, Hebei Province, was also arrested by these agents.

In mid-December 2003, practitioner Niu Dengfeng from Baoding City was arrested by Shijiazhuang MSS agents.

On July 31, 2003, practitioner Mr. Wang Shengbiao was arrested in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, by MSS agents from Hebei Province. He was detained at the Luquan City Detention Center and then transferred to the second brigade of the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp on December 31, 2003.

Later, Mr. Wang was sentenced to eleven and a half years of imprisonment. Currently, he is still detained in Shijiazhuang City Prison.
