Sentient Beings Held in Detention Centers Are Waiting to Be Saved

June 08, 2013 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) I was taken to a detention center not long ago. Although I negated the evil persecution, I was nonetheless arrested. I remembered my historic mission and viewed saving sentient beings as my priority, no matter where I was. I thought, "I should completely negate the old forces and turn this into an opportunity."

As soon as I arrived, someone asked, “What crime did you commit?” I immediately clarified the truth about Falun Gong, and asked them what they knew about it. Some had read the truth materials, some had watched the DVDs, and others had been held in the same cell with practitioners before and knew about Falun Gong through truth-clarifying words written on paper money.

Long-term inmates stated that some practitioners had refused to memorize the prison rules and regulations, to wear prison uniforms, or do prison exercises. They were subsequently beaten by inmates, handcuffed and shackled, held in solitary confinement, and tortured by guards. Although it is correct to negate the old forces' arrangements and refuse cooperation, I also remember what Master taught us,

“Why not turn the tables and expose the evil and clarify the truth to them? I suggest that all students who they are trying to forcefully reform (this excludes those who haven’t been taken away for reform) expose the evil and clarify the truth to those people who are doing the reform work, and tell them about the cause and effect relationship of 'good and evil always have consequences.'” (“A Suggestion” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)

Since I was already in the detention center, I felt I should clarify the truth to save people at the final moment of Fa rectification. Saving people is the top priority, so as long as I didn't give in and write the so called guarantee statements nor betray fellow practitioners, I didn't need to worry about minor issues.

I was subsequently surrounded by inmates asking various questions daily. “What was the Tiananmen self immolation about?” “Why does the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecute practitioners if Falun Gong is so good?” “We were arrested for committing crimes, but the CCP arrested good people here, they're really blind! If only we'd practiced Falun Gong a little earlier, we wouldn't have ended up in here! The CCP is persecuting us as well!”

I viewed the inmates as sentient beings waiting to be saved and didn't treat them as criminals, so they were willing to talk with me. Most regretted their past actions. I told them that no matter what they'd done, they were regarded as criminals according to ordinary human law. However, our ancestors said, “There is no greater sorrow than a heart that never rejoices.” According to our standards, even though you have committed many wrongs in the past, you are not necessarily a bad person; some people might not commit any wrongdoing yet are filled with bad thoughts, so they are truly bad persons. I explained that no matter what crimes they had committed, as long as they hadn't done anything against Falun Gong, and quit the CCP and related organizations, then when heaven eliminated the CCP, they would still have an opportunity to regain freedom. Even after death, the body in another dimension will have a good future.

Surprisingly, in a normal environment, some people don't understand the truth even after years of truth clarification. However, in a detention center, you only need to clarify a few basic truths, and almost everyone understands and actively requests to quit the CCP and related organizations. Some kept reminding me not to forget to help them quit, and on the day of my release, someone came to the door and shouted, “Don't forget!”

Even more unexpectedly, several inmates asked me to teach them the Falun Gong exercises. I remembered when I first started practicing and did the meditation exercise, I could hardly cross one leg. It took me several months using a fifty-kilo rice bag on top of my legs to achieve crossing both. These inmates were able to cross both legs immediately and sat for a long time after my simple instruction. Even the warden and guards asked me to teach them how to meditate. This was inconceivable in the past - even talking about Falun Gong was strictly forbidden, as one would be subjected to severe punishment. These people had deep predestined relationships with me, and this was also related to Fa rectification. More and more people were awakened and became clearheaded.

Some heard about my impending release, and kept asking me to bring Falun Gong books to the detention center. Some stated that they also wanted to practice Falun Gong as soon as they were released. Some (maybe it's their knowing side) stated, “It is really a worthwhile trip!” “Did your Master specifically arrange for you to come here to save us?” I believe that as long as they understand the truth, perhaps they will someday become sentient beings in my world.

I was transferred to another cell prior to my release, where a guard told me that he'd read a Falun Gong book recommended by his commander when he was in the military. He had also read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. He stated, “As long as you don't violate the rules and regulations, we don't care if you do the exercises or other things.”

Two days later, the head of the cell suddenly announced, “Tonight, we are going to ask so and so (me) to talk about Falun Gong, to teach us how to start a new life.”

The detention center environment is much better now. Promoting Falun Gong and openly doing the exercises was previously unimaginable. I believe that this is the inevitable result of Falun Gong perseverance in exposing the CCP's trampling of human rights in prisons, forced labor camps, and brainwashing centers.

I heard another story after my release, where a death row inmate learned the truth and continuously chanted “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good,” memorized HongYin and other lectures from Master, and even exercised in handcuffs and shackles. During his final appeal, his sentence was reduced to life in prison.

I would like to remind fellow practitioners that my sharing is a reminder of our mission and understanding of the current Fa rectification process. I am not asking practitioners to clarify the truth in prisons, forced labor camps, or brainwashing centers.
