(Minghui.org) When I first heard that practitioner B had passed away, I was shocked and in disbelief. I had always seen him as a very talented and strong young man.

Practitioner B started practicing Falun Gong before 1999. He was a university graduate with a degree in Computer Science, and everyone regarded him as an expert in his field. Virtually every practitioner in our city turned to him when they needed technical advice regarding their computers or printers. His passing away was a great loss to both our city and province, especially when it came to clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings.

He was a very kind and enthusiastic individual who was always ready, willing, and able to help anyone in need. We all turned to him whenever we needed an operating system installed or faced some technical problem. He also advised us on the best computers, printers, and office equipment to buy.

Our local practitioners often entrusted me to bring their malfunctioning computers or printers to his home. It always seemed like he was fixing something, day and night, and often skipped his meals and did without sleep.

A few days ago, I meet with his wife, practitioner C, and we discussed her husband's untimely death. As a Dafa practitioner, she was not grieved in the same way that an everyday wife would be. In a calm voice, she articulated why, from her understanding of the Fa, he had passed away.

“Almost half of all the websites across our province depended on him for technical support,” she explained. “Anyway it is a good thing.”

Then she reminded me of Master's words,

“Whatever you experience during your cultivation--whether good or bad--is good, for it comes about only because you are cultivating.” (“To the Chicago Fa Conference”)

After exchanging views with my wife, who also practices Dafa, I realized that the old forces exploited our loopholes of being too attached to relying on others and idolizing them. If every practitioner in our area took the initiative to research and solve some of the minor problems that each of them faced, this tragedy might never have occurred.

We must learn from this lesson and be careful not to shift responsibility onto the shoulders of a few practitioners. Of course, his passing away may have involved other factors, but here I'm only sharing my thoughts based on what I know of the situation.
