(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Lijun, 42, lives in Dabianzhuang, Xiqing District, Tianjin. He was taken to a brainwashing center in Dagang, Tianjin by personnel from the 610 Office on the afternoon of April 6, 2013, as he was about to get off work. He was detained for 34 days and released on May 30, 2013. When Mr. Wang was released, his relatives picked him up with a wheelchair.
When Mr. Wang's relatives picked him up at the Dagang brainwashing center, he had lost three teeth and other teeth were loose. His eyes were swollen. He could not see in one eye nor hear from one ear. He could not speak. When he tried to drink some water, it dribbled down the sides of his mouth. He could not move his right side. Marks on his left side indicated a beating. He could move his left hand only slightly but could not hold anything. The only way he could lie down was on his side.
Mr. Wang's wife and one of his relatives tried to visit him on May 25, 2013 but the brainwashing center guards did not let them see him. It was reported that Mr. Wang firmly held to his belief, continually clarified the truth about Falun Gong and, for this, was brutally beaten.
Mr. Wang's parents are in poor health. His wife does not work outside the home and his child is in middle school. His mother-in-law suffers from leukemia. Mr. Wang's illegal arrest and subsequent inability to work have placed a huge burden on the family.
When he heard of Mr. Wang's detention, a relative tried to have him released through personal connections. When he saw Mr. Wang's condition at his release, he was shocked. He determined to seek justice for Mr. Wang.
During the course of making a claim, Mr. Wang's relative witnessed for himself the scandalous behavior of the Chinese Communist Party authorities. They said that Mr. Wang hurt himself in detention and they would not bear any responsibility. They made Mr. Wang have a physical examination at a hospital designated by them. The hospital results reported no problems. The relative continues to seek justice for Mr. Wang.
