In December 2012, Ms. Guo Pingzhen from Wuexue City, Hubei Province went to Beijing on business. After arriving in Beijing she distributed Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials near the train station. She was arrested by officers from the Yangfangdian Police Station. Ms. Guo was taken to the Haidian Detention Center and later illegally sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp.

When Ms. Guo went on a hunger strike to protest her detention, the medical staff inserted tubes through her esophagus to her stomach to feed her. When she objected to such a treatment, she was tied down on her bed and the brutal forced-feedings continued. Female guard Li Xiaoyan stepped on Ms. Guo's legs with her high heel shoes. Ms. Guo shouted loudly that the guards were abusing people. Li retorted, “Shouting won't do you any good. The Minghui website had already reported about my beating people. I don't care.” The forced-feedings caused Ms. Guo's arms to swell, which the medical staff ignored. Where her arms became very sore, she told the guards again. A female guard looked at her arms and agreed that her arms were indeed terribly swollen and asked that the doctor see her.

Minghui.org has reported several times that the medical staff at Haidian Detention Center are cruel and rude to Falun Dafa practitioners.

Haidian Detention Center is the largest detention center in Asia. More than 30 people are packed in rooms measuring approximately twenty square meters. Detainees are fed only scant amounts of rice and some boiled vegetables. When they are not sleeping, detainees must sit on a board for prolonged periods of time. They are treated inhumanely throughout the day.
