(Minghui.org) The recent Minghui editorial, “Giving Speeches Amounts to Disrupting the Fa” addresses what happened in our local area.

In 2010, I received a call urging me to rush to Practitioner A’s residence. I was concerned that Practitioner A might be suffering from sickness karma so I asked another practitioner to go with me. When the two of us got there a bit past 4 p.m, we were shocked to see close to 40 people sitting on the floor listening to a man on the couch who was talking non-stop.

I joined everyone but within ten minutes I realized this speaker was not sharing experiences on how to do the three things well, but was instead talking about trials of the old forces. He casually cited Master’s teachings as if they were his own, and the audience had no idea which were his thoughts and what was Master’s Fa.

I stopped him, saying, “You’re trying to cite Master’s Fa. If you remember every word, then recite the whole passage. Otherwise, you should make it clear that what you say is not Master’s original words.” I reminded him of what Master taught us:

“And you aren’t allowed to use my original words as your own words, or else that’s plagiarizing the Law. The only way to do it is to use my original words and add something like 'that’s what the teacher said,' or 'that’s what’s in the book.' That’s the only way you can do it. And why is that? Because when you talk about it that way, your words carry the power of the Great Law.” (The Third Talk in Zhuan Falun)

He replied it would be too much trouble for him to do that. I advised him that he couldn’t afford not to consider the consequences just for his own convenience. Then I shared my personal understanding, including how to study the Fa with a calm mind, how to send forth righteous thoughts to clear my own field, and how to negate the old forces and clarify the facts to save sentient beings.

Practitioner A interrupted me and said, “Let the invited speaker talk first.” Another practitioner disagreed with her: “We should each share our own thoughts and this way we can truly improve from the Fa.” He and I then left.

A third practitioner followed us and the three of us briefly shared our thoughts outside. The third practitioner said, “I agree with what you said. The speaker is Mr. Li from Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province. He’s already held quite a few such meetings in our area. Sometimes he even gave three or four talks per day. Before he came to us, he visited Shenyang City in Liaoning Province and Yichun City in Heilongjiang Province. Many of the practitioners in those places were arrested after listening to to him speak. Minghui has already published two articles, one written by a Shenyang practitioner and the other a Yichun practitioner, that warned people about this Mr. Li. I tried to stop Practitioner A from inviting him, but she just wouldn’t listen. Even my own older brother swooned over this man. My brother had already heard him a few times, yet he’s still following Mr. Li around.”

Upon returning home, I specifically read the following articles written by Master: “A Letter to Shijiazhuang Dafa General Assistance Center,” “Bear in Mind Forever,” “A Heavy Blow,” “Another Comment on Evaluation Criteria,” “Definitive Conclusion,” “Cultivators’ Avoidances,” “Awakening” and “Stability of the Fa.”

The next morning I went to Practitioner A’s home again and she was very happy, thinking I agreed with her inviting Mr. Li. Her room was once again filled with people, even more than the day before.

I asked to speak with her privately on her balcony. I said, “Master has published many articles telling us that such large scale sessions with one person giving speeches amounts to disrupting the Fa. I’d say you should stop organizing such sessions right away. Whoever listens to such speeches has been interfered with. What this speaker says doesn’t conform to the Fa at all. Master requires us to do the three things well and it is really urgent to save as many people as possible. Each of the practitioners here can save a lot of sentient beings, but you've gathered them here and are wasting their time. Aren’t you interfering with the salvation of sentient beings? I urge you to read again Master’s articles ‘A Heavy Blow’ and ‘Bear in Mind Forever.’ When you fail to do what a Dafa disciple is supposed to do, you not only get yourself interfered with, but also make a lot of trouble for other practitioners. How could you ever make up for repay such a grave crime as disrupting the Fa? Not only that, such back-to-back talks is a huge safety hazard.”

Practitioner A was not happy with me and insisted there was nothing wrong with what she did. Mr. Li overheard me and threw a tantrum, “Why can’t I give lectures?” His demon nature was on full display yet no one questioned him.

I told him I was just sharing some of my thoughts, but he was very rude and blatantly stopped me. I left without saying another word.

Unfortunately, this Mr. Li has been giving numerous talks in Harbin since his first visit in the spring of 2010. His followers blindly idolize him and totally forget to treat the Fa as teacher. If none of his listeners paid attention to him, he wouldn’t have had any audience during the past three years.

Master said:

“…why does someone like that exist among Dafa disciples, and why would such a thing come about? Isn't that person's presence meant to target certain people, or certain human attachments? For sure. Nothing happens in cultivation without a reason. When incorrect states and bad human conduct surface among us, those things have come to target human attachments.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2009 Washington DC International Fa Conference”)

As I see it, those who have been fooled by this Mr. Li fall into a number of categories. The first are those who fail to cultivate solidly and, as such, have no clear understanding of the Fa principles. The second category are people who have been in long-term tribulations yet fail to make any breakthroughs. The third category involves those who stopped cultivation for some time but later resumed the practice. The fourth category want to make up for the loss they caused Dafa while in detention. The fifth category features those who dare not clarify the facts because of their strong fear. The sixth category seek shortcuts in their cultivation. The last category is comprised of those who tend to idolize so-called “star practitioners.”

All these people still harbor various human attachments which happen to identify with those Fa-disrupting speeches. They fail to recognize they are cultivators and totally forget what Master said, “The cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master.” (The First Talk in Zhuan Falun)

It is my sincere hope that these speakers, listeners, and organizers sit down and read carefully the Minghui editorial “Giving Speeches Amounts to Disrupting the Fa.” I urge them to look inward to rectify themselves. Only by doing so can they make up for the loss they caused Dafa and redeem themselves. Only by doing so can they be worthy of Master’s compassionate salvation of them and the hope placed in them by the sentient beings in their universes. After all, they are the only hope for their sentient beings.
