Canada: Government Officials Write to Congratulate 21st Anniversary of Falun Dafa's Introduction to the Public

(Minghui.org) May 13, 2013 marks the 21st anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa. On this special occasion, many government officials of Canada wrote letters of greeting in congratulation of the 21st anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public. They recognized Falun Dafa's principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and commended Falun Dafa's tremendous contribution to the communities and the country. Below are the letters of greeting received from Members of Parliament Rod Bruinooge, Vic Toews, and Joyce Bateman, Mayor Martin Harder of the City of Winkler, Mayor Lynn Greenberg of the Rural Municipality of Gimli, and Mayor Sam Katz of the City of Winnipeg.

21st Anniversary Celebration of Falun Dafa

Good afternoon and thank you for the invitation to be with you today. Please accept my apologies for not being able to attend in person.

On behalf of the federal government, it is my pleasure to offer greetings to the Falun Dafa Association of Canada on your 21st anniversary. Falun Dafa’s legacy in Canada is spirited and significant- it is a legacy that all Canadians can appreciate and take pride in.

The teachings of Falun Dafa emphasize the cultivation of the moral principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance in daily life. Falun Dafa practitioners strive to live in harmony with individuals and the world around them and meaningfully enhance the vibrancy of our communities. These are important teachings which we as Canadians can certainly relate to.

I want to thank you for your unwavering passion for the promotion of this discipline in Manitoba and our nation. Your contributions toward improving the cultural landscape of our communities do not go unnoticed.

With over 100 million people in over 100 countries practicing Falun Dafa, this anniversary celebration will be empowering to all in attendance. This traditional Chinese self-improvement practice finds its roots in truthfulness, compassion and forbearance and promotes peace in our own backyard and across the globe. Your contributions define our community as a hub of diversity, spirituality and understanding – thank you for touching hearts and lifting the human spirit around the world.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the organizers and volunteers for their hard work and dedication in organizing this event. Our City is a community that boasts first class attractions, supreme hospitality and a warm, welcome spirit. As a result, we attract visitors far and wide to our City – The Heart of the Continent.
