(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 9 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least one practitioner was illegally arrested .

6. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Jingli Tortured at Detention Center
7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ren Sumei Sent to Prison

1. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhen Yachen Tortured in Detention

Mr. Zhen Yachen, from Yi'an County, was sentenced to one year of forced labor. He was transferred from the Tiedong Detention Center in Fuyu County to the Suihua Labor Camp in November 2012.

Mr. Zhen was brutally tortured at the detention center with special devices that stretched his legs and fingers, causing extreme pain and rendering him unable to bend his extremities. The longest consecutive period of such torture was over a month. Pan Xiang, the deputy director of the detention center, directly participated in the torture and beat Mr. Zhen to the verge of death.

2. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Men Guirong Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Men Guirong was recently sentenced to seven years in prison.

3. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured in Hebei Province Women’s Prison

Han Xiuxin, instructor of the No. 8 Ward of the Hebei Province Women's Prison, was among those who beat Falun Gong practitioners and shocked them with electronic batons, as well as applied other physical tortures.

Ms. Gao Chunlian, from Zhuozhou City, was shocked with an electronic baton for over 40 minutes. Ms. Han Liping, from Chengde City, was beaten and shocked with electronic batons. Ms. Zhang Fengde, from Langfang City, was also beaten and shocked with electronic batons, as well as deprived of sleep and forced to stand still the whole night.

4. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Guo Zhiheng Arrested

Mr. Guo Zhiheng, who had a temporary job in Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan City, was arrested when he was putting up stickers with information about Falun Gong on February 21, 2013.

5. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wang Huizhen and Ms. Cai Wenhui Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Huizhen and Ms. Cai Wenhui were arrested at Ms. Wang's home on May 5, 2012. Both were sentenced to three years in prison by the Kunming City Middle Court. They are appealing to a higher court. They are currently held at the Xishan District Detention Center in Kunming City.

6. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Jingli Tortured at Detention Center

Mr. Liu Jingli was incarcerated and tortured at a detention center. He was very weak when finally released.

7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ren Sumei Sent to Prison

Ms. Ren Sumei, from Jing County, was sentenced to five years in prison. She is currently held at the No 5. Ward of the Hebei Province Women's Prison in Luquan City, Shijiazhuang City. When her mother and younger brother came to visit her before the Chinese New Year, they were not allowed to see her. Later, guards told them to mail 200 yuan to Ms. Ren each month.
