(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuhua is the former director of the Department of Russian Studies at Nanjing Normal University. Because of her refusal to renounce Falun Dafa, she has been imprisoned in a forced labor camp three times in addition to serving a prison term. Instead of being released after serving the prison term, she was transferred to the brainwashing center in Nanjing City. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials want to “transform” her because she lives by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Ms. Zhang Yuhua, in her 50s, is the former representative of the Nanjing City People’s Conference and the director of the Department of Russian Studies at Nanjing Normal University. After earning her doctorate, she was immediately promoted to the position of assistant professor. She was in charge of many academic projects and was awarded the Outstanding Young Teacher Certificate many times.

Because Ms. Zhang practices Falun Dafa, she has been repeatedly detained. She was held in a forced labor camp for one year in 2001. In 2003, she was sentenced to a four-year prison term. In 2009, she was sentenced to one and a half years in a forced labor camp. She was held again in a labor camp for one year in 2011. She was in Judong Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province, Nanjing Women’s Prison, and the Nanjing Brainwashing Center. She was brutally tortured because of her refusal to renounce Falun Dafa.

In November 2011 in the Yangzhuang Beichun District in Liuhe, Nanjing, Ms. Zhang was arrested by Xiejiadian Police Station officers. Xiao Ningjian from the National Security Team was in charge. Staff from the 610 Office put her under general anesthesia and tied her up when they took her to Judong Women's Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province.

By November 15, 2012, Ms. Zhang had served the full prison term. However, because she refused to be “transformed,” she was transferred to the Nanjing Brainwashing Center, located in the Huada Hotel on Qingdao Road in Nanjing City, where she was harassed and tortured.
