Trial Held for Seven Mianyang City Practitioners--Attorneys Enter Not-guilty Pleas

March 31, 2013 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Sichuan Province, China

(Minghui.org) Fucheng District Court in Mianyang City held a trial for seven practitioners on March 1, 2013. The practitioners included Tang Ming, Ma Zisheng, Mu Zhitai, Li Shuangquan, Ma Mingli, Ren Biying, and Dai Changquan. The trial lasted for one day before the chief judge adjourned the court. The practitioners were returned to the detention center.

Fucheng District Police Department agents arrested the seven practitioners in a sweep on July 6, 2012, and detained them at the Mianyang Detention Center for nearly eight months.

The families hired two attorneys to enter not-guilty pleas on behalf of the practitioners. They emphasized that, “Practicing Falun Gong is legal but persecuting Falun Gong is unlawful.” The judges, prosecutors, and police agents were surprised to hear this.

During the trial, the attorneys did well in defending the seven practitioners.
