(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lin Zehua has become paralyzed and bedridden resulting from persecution in Jiamusi Prison. He is very weak and rarely eats or drinks. Chief Liu Xibo and Wang Baohui of the Prison Surveillance Team saw Mr. Lin reading a copy of Zhuan Falun in bed on the morning of November 21, 2012. Liu ordered Mr. Lin to hand in the book. When Mr. Lin refused, Liu ordered Wang Baohui to take the book.

Liu Hongpeng is an associate instructor of District No. 5 in Jiamusi Prison. On September 10, 2012, he took Mr. Liu Minghui's sweaters and undergarments, and said they had to be burned because the word “prisoner” wasn't written on them.

Guard Yu Huan of District No. 5 in Jiamusi Prison instigated criminal inmates to take away Mr. Liu Minghui's Dafa book on October 16, 2012, because district head Wang Qingjun saw Mr. Liu reading the book on the video surveillance monitor. Mr. Liu later tried to clarify the facts to the guards and requested that they return his book, but to no avail.

Mr. Lin Zehua was previously a taxi driver in Youyi County, Fenggang Town. He was illegally sentenced to seven years in prison in 2008 and taken to Jiamusi Prison, where criminal inmate Li Yansong was ordered to monitor him. One day, Li Yansong deliberately pushed Mr. Lin down, and Mr. Lin became paralyzed. However, the guards claimed that Mr. Lin was faking and didn't allow anyone to help take care of him. Mr. Lin then tried to sue the prison in order to protect his rights, but his lawsuit papers were taken away by prison authorities. Instead of punishing the inmate who caused Mr. Lin's disability, prison authorities intentionally released him early, yet still refuse to release Mr. Lin on medical bail. Mr. Lin can't take care of himself and continues to be tortured in prison.

Practitioner Qin Yueming died due to persecution in Jiamusi Prison in 2011. The prison conducted forced "transformation" on Falun Gong practitioners from February 26 to March 8, 2011. Three practitioners, including Mr. Qin Yueming, died. Mr. Qin's family refused to settle his death with the prison privately. They tried to seek justice through the judicial system by appealing to different authorities, but to no avail. However, the family's appeal drew public attention to the situation at Jiamusi Prison. As a result, some of the guards have restrained themselves. Some of the guards now understand the truth about Falun Gong, and realize that persecuting practitioners was a crime. They have stopped persecuting the practitioners. However, other guards still refuse to change because they are motivated by power and personal gain.
