Sydney, Australia: Collecting Signatures to Stop Organ Harvesting in China (Photo)

March 20, 2013 |

(Minghui.org) On March 16, 2013, Falun Gong practitioners from Sydney held an event at Campsie Plaza to collect signatures, calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Practitioners set up display boards and passed out materials to expose the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. David Johnson, a local citizen, was moved to tears when viewing the display boards. He said that the brutality of the persecution was beyond his imagination. He signed the petition and condemned the CCP's atrocities.

It was a hot day. Some local citizens bought ice cream for the practitioners, encouraging them to keep up their efforts. Some Chinese people also expressed their support.

Ms. Yee-ha Jan, a 30-year-old Korean woman, looked at a display board for a long time. She pointed to a photo of a female practitioner with an enlarged abdomen, and asked if she was pregnant. Ms. Jan was told that that practitioner was not pregnant. Instead, she had suffered from severe ascites due to torture while imprisoned by the CCP. Ms. Jan was appalled by the injustice and signed the petition before leaving.

Besides collecting signatures, practitioners also went to the stores nearby, and asked the owners if they could put up posters that call for an end to organ harvesting in China. In one grocery store, the owner was shocked by the brutality of the persecution. He condemned the persecution, and asked his employees to sign the petition. Later, he also helped practitioners to talk to three customers in the store, and asked them to sign the petition. Before the practitioners left the store, the owner helped them put up the posters up in front of his store. The owners of many other stores also allowed the practitioners to put up the posters.

During the event, more than 600 people signed the petition and 150 Chinese people decided to quit the Communist Party and its affiliated organizations.
