(Minghui.net) Mr. Wang Zhong was a senior engineer at People's Bank in Kuancheng County, Hebei Province. During the communist regime's 14-year persecution of Falun Gong, he was incarcerated in brainwashing centers three times and sentenced to three years of forced labor. Due to the severe mistreatment in detention, he nearly lost his eyesight, experienced significant hearing loss, and had difficulty walking. His economic losses due to the persecution amounted to nearly 200,000 yuan. Below is the summary of the persecution he has suffered.

Incarcerated in Brainwashing Center

In August 2002, Mr. Wang's work unit required Falun Gong practitioners to write down their thoughts on the Tiananmen Square Self-immolation Incident. Mr. Wang knew that this incident was a hoax, staged by the Communist Party to frame Falun Gong. He listed the evidence to this effect. The department head informed him that such content would not be accepted by the upper management. However, after Mr. Wang explained that all his statements were true, the department leader sent his document to the upper management.

Soon thereafter, Mr. Wang was sent to the brainwashing center in Chengde City. Mr. Wang's relatives and colleagues were ordered into the center to pressure him “transform” him, but he held on to his belief. Then the guards handcuffed him to a boiler pipe in the basement and punched him in the mouth. They forced him to listen to propaganda slandering Falun Gong for four days in a row, which caused Mr. Wang's blood pressure and heart rate to rise.

He was persecuted in the brainwashing center for about one month. Officials extorted 5,000 yuan from his family and 2,000 from his work unit. People who participated in sending Mr. Wang to the brainwashing center included bank head Duan Lixin, secretary of the Discipline Investigation Section Wang Keyou, Cao Fengzhi, Li Xiaolei, and Ji Yazhou from the 610 Office, and Gao Shan, Yuan Xuezhong, Hu, and Lu from the Domestic Security Division.

Sent to Brainwashing Center Again

On October 20, 2004, Mr. Wang was arrested while distributing information that exposed the persecution. The police raided his home and office on the same night. One week later, he was sent to the 610 Office-operated brainwashing center in Chengde City.

The police ordered Mr. Wang to stand up and answer their questions. He replied, “I did not commit any crime.” The police attempted to beat him. However, when he shouted, “ Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness, Compassionate and Forbearance is good!” they got scared and left the room. Mr. Wang Zhong was detained in the brainwashing center for more than 20 days.

Brutally Tortured in Labor Camp

On November 10, 2004, Jia, associate director of Kuancheng Police Department, Gao Shan from Domestic Security Division, Xu from the Law and Order Section, and Wang Keyou, associate director of the bank, sent Mr. Wang to the Gaoyang Labor Camp. They also extorted 8,000 yuan from his family. Mr. Wang did not eat or drink for a whole day. After completing a physical exam upon his arrival, the labor camp refused to accept him. However, he was subsequently accepted by the labor camp on November 12.

After three years of torture in the labor camp, Mr. Wang's weight dropped from 170 lbs to 90 lbs. He also nearly lost his sight and hearing. His legs felt numb and painful, and he could hardly walk.

In March 2005, Mr. Wang wrote a letter describing the persecution in Gaoyang Labor Camp to his employer at the bank. He also declared his intent to quit the Chinese Communist Party. After the letter reached his work unit through many hands, the department director handed it over to the Kuancheng 610 Office and the bank headquarters. Subsequently, the letter was returned to the labor camp.

Guard Ge Baochun took Mr. Wang to a closed room, where the torture instruments were already set up in the room. He tried to force Mr. Wang to admit out loud that he had written the letter. However, Mr. Wang said that he could not see anything, as his eyesight was damaged in the previous rounds of abuse.

In September 2005, practitioners held in the Gaoyang Women's Labor Camp were brutally beaten for reading Falun Gong lectures. Officer Li Xuejun led the beatings. Falun Gong practitioners then started a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

When Mr. Wang heard of this, he also started a hunger strike to support the female practitioners. Officers Wang Zhitai and Li Haimin handcuffed him without providing any reason. Mr. Wang then shouted, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness, Compassionate and Forbearance are good!”

Wang Zhitai and Li Haimin then dragged Mr. Wang down the stairs from the third floor to the ground floor. Wang Zhitai used his shoes to beat his head and mouth. Li Haimin also punched his mouth, leaving his front teeth loose and his mouth filled with blood.

Mr. Wang was monitored by other prisoners 24 hours a day. He was frequently insulted and searched. After one year, his black hair turned white, and his condition weakened.

In November 2005, Mr. Wang was transferred to the Handan Labor Camp, where he suffered more brutal persecution. Upon arrival, he was assigned to the unit specialized in “transforming” Falun Gong practitioners through brainwashing and torture.

The guards forced practitioners to watch TV programs that slandered Falun Gong and then write statements denouncing the practice. They also organized a group of “transformed” practitioners who had renounced their belief to pressure other practitioners to do the same. In addition, the guards commanded the prisoners to monitor practitioners 24 hours a day, even in the bathroom and while sleeping.

Guard Gao Jinli tried to coerce Mr. Wang into giving up his faith, but Mr. Wang would not agree. Gao Jinli then beat Mr. Wang on the head with leather shoes, kicked him to the ground, and poured hot water into his eyes, which caused him to become almost blind.

Guards Gao Zhifei, Liu Chaobo, Li Jianming , Yao Jianming, Ge Qingxi, Xing Yansheng, Wang Zhiming, Zuo Tao, and Zhang Wenshan also persecuted Mr. Wang in different ways.

After one month, Mr. Wang was transferred to another ward. After a few months, his weight dropped from 170 to 90 pounds and he could not stand up straight.

Starting in September 2006, Mr. Wang had diarrhea for more than one month and was very week. During this period, he was beaten twice by deputy team lead Zhang Kun for taking a more time in the bathroom.

In August 2007, a month before Mr. Wang was due to be released, he was again sent to the unit specializing in “transforming” practitioners. At 10 p.m. one day, he was taken by five prisoners (Zhang Xin, Wang Hongjun, Yang Zaisheng, Liu Tao and Hu Yuncheng) to the guards' room.

Team head Ge Qingxi, deputy head Wang Zhiming, Gao Jinli and the five prisoners took off Mr. Wang's belt and tied his feet together. Then they took off his clothes and used electric batons and barbed sticks to shock and beat him. They especially focused on shocking his sensitive body parts, including the arches of his feet, knees, groin, navel, anus and penis. Some also used cigarettes to burn his neck and the back of his hands.

Detained Again for His Faith

In June 2010, the bank deceived Mr. Wang into attending a meeting in the bank president's office, where agents from the 610 office and Domestic Security Division were secretly waiting. One of them said, “The three years in labor camps did not transform you. So we found 'experts' in Hebei Province to transform you.”

Four or five officers then dragged Mr. Wang to the police car and sent him to Jiecheng Villa in Chengde County. He was detained there for almost a month. Since he refused to give up his belief, officials then attempted to incarcerate him at the Chengde Labor Camp and the Kaiping Labor Camp (in Tangshan City). However, both labor camps refused to accept Mr. Wang due to his weak physical condition. He was finally released after officials extorted 10,000 yuan from his family.

The individuals participating in the persecution of Mr. Wang, besides those mentioned above, include Zhang Rongyu, Zhang Wei, Gao Shan, Zhang Yushen, He Xiuchun, and Liu Zhiwei.
