(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in eight cities or counties in seven provinces. In this report, four Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least eight practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Xiaoxuan Detained

Mr. Wang Xiaoxuan, 40, is from Fuxin City, Liaoning Province. He was arrested by officers from the Dongcheng Police Station in Yanjiao for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong in the Yanjiao residential quarters, Sanhe, Langfang City on January 24, 2013. He is being held in the Sanhe Police Department.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Cui Xuelei Detained

Ms. Cui Xuelei was arrested in Beijing in November, 2012. She is being held in the Chaoyang District Detention Center in Beijing.

3. [Hui County, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhe Jindong, Ms. Yang Xuqin, and Mr. Lu Xuelin Detained

Mr. Zhe Jindong, Ms. Yang Xuqin, and Mr. Lu Xuelin from Hui County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Hui County Police Department on January 22, 2013.

4. [Wuzhong City, Ningxia Province] Ms. Zheng Fengying Secretly Sentenced to Longterm Imprisonment

Ms. Zheng Fengying from Wuzhong City was secretly sentenced to seven years in prison on January 15, 2013.

Mr. Ma Xiongde is still being held in the Wuzhong Detention Center.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Hongjin Detained

Mr. Zhang Hongjin from Songgezhuang Village, Jiangtuan Town, Laiyang City, Shandong Province, was arrested by officers from the Tuanwang Town Police Station on the afternoon of January 23, 2013. His home was later ransacked and his Falun Gong books were confiscated. Mr. Zhang was taken away by officers from the Laiyang City Domestic Security Division the next morning and his whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Huaibin County, Henan Province] Ms. Xia Wenyue Sentenced

Ms. Xia Wenyue from Huaibin County was arrested for posting up information about Falun Gong on March, 23, 2012. She was later sentenced to four years and six months in prison and at the end of 2012, she was sent to the Xinxiang Women's Prison.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Fengying Detained

Ms. Zhang Fengying from Beijing was transferred to a police station on January 18, 2013 after being held in the Changping District Detention Center in Beijing for almost two months. She was again transferred to the Daxing Forced Labor Deployment Department in Beijing on the morning of January 22, 2013.

8. [Urumqi, Xinjiang] Ms. Pu Chun Detained

Ms. Pu Chun from Urumqi was arrested on September 2, 2012. She is being held in a forced labor camp.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Yingdong Tortured

Ms. Zhao Yingdong from Beijing is about 40 years old. She was arrested and held in the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp. Guards beat her violently and broke her shin because she persevered in practicing Falun Gong exercises. Her calf muscles shrunk as a result of the abuse and she could no longer walk.

10. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiao Kaiqiong Detained

Ms. Xiao Kaiqiong was arrested by officers from the Economic Development Zone Police Station of the Shifang City Police Department for informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Economic Development Zone in Shifang City on January 23, 2013.
