610 Office Officials Face Bleak Futures

February 01, 2013 |   By Zhong Yan

(Minghui.org) Wang Guangping, deputy head of the Guangzhou City Domestic Security Division, suddenly collapsed on June 10, 2010, never to get up again. Xinhua Net, the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) mouthpiece, claimed that Wang died of a heart attack. Interestingly, this 54-year-old former deputy head of the Guangzhou City 610 Office perished on June 10, the exact date on which eleven years earlier, Jiang’s regime founded the notorious 610 Office.

The 610 Office is a Fateful Post

Because of his active participation in persecuting Falun Gong, Wang Guangping was promoted to deputy head of the Guangzhou City 610 Office in 2001, and then later to deputy head of the Anti-cult Division. He remained in that position until 2006, when he was transferred to the Guangzhou City Domestic Security Division to take charge of “maintaining social stability.” During his tenure at various positions and under his directive, 3,310 Falun Gong practitioners were sent to brainwashing centers, 78 truth-clarification materials sites were destroyed, 395 practitioners were sent to forced labor camps, and 16 were sentenced to prison.

The curse surrounding the 610 Office is still present. Within less than two years of Wang’s passing, Qi Xiaolin, the Guangzhou City Political and Legal Committee deputy secretary and police department deputy head, suddenly hung himself on January 8, 2013. He was only 55 years old. Before his death, Qi also closely followed Jiang and his cohorts in persecuting Falun Gong.

The CCP media claimed that both men’s deaths were, “a result of overwork in their respective jobs,” and moved swiftly to block the news from spreading further. Though people were prohibited from talking about it, the news still made its way through the entire political and legal committee system [note: such committees exist at every level of the government], causing a shock wave.

After Bo Xilai was removed from his post and Zhou Yongkang lost power, Guangzhou City Police Department deputy head He Jing, who had been closely following Zhou, was soon disciplined. These three men faced grave consequences for their roles in persecuting Falun Gong.

In December 2012, Sichuan Province CCP vice secretary Li Chuncheng, a confidant of Zhou Yongkang, was reported and later removed from his post. He is now under investigation. His wife, Qu Songzhi, was also removed from her post as Chengdu City Red Cross CCP secretary.

The fall of Wang Lijun, Bo Xilai, and Zhou Yongkang last year was likely just a prelude to further retribution to come for the people in the political and legal committee system. According to a Beijing insider, a former high-ranking official in the system recently submitted a report to the central CCP government summarizing the arrests and discipline of officials within the system. The report pointed out that a total of 453 people had been disciplined or arrested in the past three-plus months. The offenders included 392 people from the police system, 19 from the Procuratorate system, 27 from the court system, 5 from the judicial system, and 10 from other systems. This report concluded that in many places the political, legal, and police systems were in a state of semi-paralysis, and people had become pessimistic about their future.

According to Minghui reports, more and more officials at different levels who have participated in the persecution of Falun Gong have seen retributions come their way during the past few years. The head of the 610 Office has long been known as a “death post” within the political and legal system. Many 610 Office heads are no longer willing to take part in the persecution after receiving retribution and learning the truth from Falun Gong practitioners. In order to fill the vacant posts, the system sometimes has to draw names randomly from its roster. Those who are still clinging to this post are mostly truly evil people who want to advance their political careers by persecuting Falun Gong.

Promiscuous CCP Officials

In addition to those in the CCP's political and legal system who have met with retribution for their evil deeds, officials in the propaganda system are also getting their fair share. A recent example is Yi Junqing, a high-ranking CCP official who was removed from his post as head of the Central Compilation and Translation Bureau, due to sex scandals.

Yi Junqing once served as chair of the Philosophy Department, then vice president and later president of Heilongjiang University. During Yi’s tenure, philosophy major Dai Rui was expelled from school for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. This student was tortured at the Mudanjiang No. 2 Detention Center and the Heilong Drug Rehabilitation Center to the point that he nearly suffered a mental collapse. After he was illegally arrested again in May 2002 he was sentenced to three years of forced labor at Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City.

When Heilongjiang Province established a committee to specifically target Falun Gong in April 2001, Yi Junqing served as vice chair. Under his directive, the committee posted numerous articles online which included fabricated lies about Falun Gong. Prompted by the Heilongjiang 610 Office, this committee later collaborated with the Heilongjiang Telecommunication Bureau to send anti-Falun Gong text messages to cell phone holders on sensitive dates and during important CCP events. After Yi Junqing was appointed to the position of Heilongjiang Province CCP Propaganda Department head in March 2007, he worked even harder to help Jiang’s regime attack Falun Gong.

A Deeper Understanding of the Retribution Cases

On the surface, the fall of numerous CCP officials appears to be a result of political infighting, corruption, or promiscuity, when in fact they are actually paying the price for their long-term persecution of Falun Gong.

Since its introduction to the public in 1992, Falun Gong has spread to more than one hundred countries and has enabled hundreds of millions of people to embark on a journey to return to their true selves. However, out of jealousy, Jiang Zemin single handedly launched the persecution of this wonderful practice 14 years ago. His political faction abused China's national resources and inflicted unspeakable harm on kindhearted people by means of arrest, detention, torture, brainwashing, and even live organ harvesting. They established 610 Offices at various levels within the regime's political and legal system, and carried out the large-scale and long-term persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Not long ago, Minghui published an article entitled “CCP Officials Take Note: Atonement, Not Suicide, Is the Only Way Out” (http://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2013/1/15/137118.html). I sincerely hope that CCP officials will read this article and understand that there is not much time left to redeem their crimes.
