(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhao Tianrong was reported to the authorities and illegally arrested by police for practicing Falun Gong. Officers from the Longdong Police Station arrested Mr. Zhao at his workplace in Dongpu County, Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, on November 19, 2013.
Police broke into Mr. Zhao's home in Shunde District, Foshan City, the same day and confiscated his computer. The next day, they brought Mr. Zhao back to his workplace and took photos. Then they took him to the Tianhe Detention Center.
Mr. Zhao was transfered to the Lunjiao Police Station in Shunde, his place of residence, on November 25, 2013. At this point, the Tianhe Police Department and the Tainhe 610 Office were also involved in the case, along with the Longdong Police Station.
Mr. Zhao is currently detained in the Shunde Detention Center.
According to Mr. Zhao's former colleague, some officers from the Tianhe District Police Department had come looking for him at work on July 17, 2013. Mr. Zhao had left early that day because he didn't feel well, thus escaping arrest.
Mr. Zhao Tianrong, 36, is from Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. He used to work as a business manager for the Yongyou Company, and then became a manager of the Hongde Technology Company in Guangzhou City.
Mr. Zhao was a calm, humorous and patient manager. Because he was highly skilled and able to solve difficult problems, he was well respected by the employees. As the company's workload increases toward the end of the year, his sudden arrest has caused great difficulties for the company and its clients.
After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Zhao was sentenced to 3 years of forced labor. Under the extreme pressure of brainwashing and torture in the labor camp, he renounced his faith in Falun Gong.
Upon his release, he felt much regret and published a solemn declaration on the Minghui website that he would practice Falun Gong again. Gradually, his circumstances got better. He found a job, got promoted and had a stable income.
Mr. Zhao then changed his job, got married, and bought a house and a car. He and his wife have a 5-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son. The children do not know that their father has been arrested.
