(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Jinfeng in Hulin City was arrested on September 29, 2013, and taken to the Jixi City Brainwashing Center.
Her husband Mr. Yang hired attorney Mr. Tang Jitian. The two went to the Jixi 610 Office to discuss Ms. Yu's case. Mr. Tang was accused of “disturbing public order,” arrested and detained at the Jixi No. 2 Detention Center for five days.

Attorney Tang Jitian accompanied Mr. Yang to the Jixi 610 Office on the afternoon of October 16. They wanted to discuss the arrest and imprisonment of Mr. Yang's wife, who was arrested for practicing Falun Gong and taken to the Jixi Brainwashing Center. Only Mr. Yang was allowed to enter the office. Listening from outside the office, Mr. Tang heard 610 Office staff berate his client, so he called an end to the conversation.
When Mr. Yang and Mr. Tang were leaving, 610 Office personnel chased after them and called the police. Both men were arrested and detained by officers from the Yongchang Police Station.
Mr. Yang and the attorney were accused of “disturbing the public order.” They were held at Jixi No. 2 Detention Center for five days.
Mr. Tang had his license revoked for defending Falun Gong practitioners in court. He was stopped from leaving China several times. He was arrested by the Domestic Security Division in Beijing and suffered physical torture.
Mr. Tang and attorneys Mr. Jiang Tianyong and Mr. Li Xiongbing defended practitioners Mr. Liu Jinglu and Ms. Sun Lixiang, husband and wife, at Jiguan District Court in Jixi in 2009. During the trial, details of the torture the couple had suffered were described. The prosecutors asked that the hearing be postponed. The court approved it. A month passed and the procuratorate did not ask for another hearing. Therefore the court ruled that the procuratorate dropped the charges against the couple. The local police and 610 Office personnel were angry with the attorneys.
Several dozens of attorneys from all over China went to Jixi to protest Mr. Tang's imprisonment.
Attorney Mr. Dong Qianyong arrived in Jixi at 3 p.m. on October 17. He went to the Yongchang Police Station, the detention center, Jiguan District Police Department, Jixi Police Department, the Procuratorate and other agencies to demand the release of Mr. Tang. All of these agencies claimed that they were not responsible.
Mr. Dong received a phone call from officer Li from the Jiguan Domestic Security Division at 8 a.m. on October 18. He was informed that Mr. Tang and Mr. Yang were charged with “disturbing the public order,” and held for five days at the Jixi No. 2 Detention Center.
