Six Practitioners Still Detained in Maoming City After Mass Arrest

(Minghui.org) Fourteen Falun Gong practitioners were arrested at Ms. Liang Guifen's home in Maoming City, Guangdong Province on November 2, 2013 and taken to a drug rehabilitation center in Xiaoliang Town.

The police confiscated several boxes of Falun Gong books, calendars, Falun Gong truth-clarification materials, a satellite receiver, cellphones, MP4 players, over 1,000 yuan with written messages about renouncing the Party, and other personal belongings. More than 30 officers from the Maogang District participated in the arrest.

Eight practitioners were released the next day. Six are still detained. Ms. Lingxiu, Ms. Xuemei, Ms. Liang Qiuyuan, and Ms. Huazhen were taken to the Maoming Brainwashing Center on November 3. Ms. Deng Shuiyu was transferred to the Dianbai Detention Center. Ms. Liang Guifen is currently detained at the Maoming No. 1 Detention Center. The Maogang Police Department issued a detention warrant to Ms. Liang on November 3.

Ms. Liang Guifen's Family Persecuted

Ms. Liang's family was persecuted during the past ten plus years. Her husband, Mr. Li Kun, and her son Mr. Li Xinhua, 18, a high school student, were arrested in January 2002. Mr. Li Kun was sentenced to a 14 year prison term, and Mr. Li Xinhua was sentenced to a five year prison term. Mr. Li Kun is still being held in Sihui Prison.

Ms. Liang has been the main support at home for the past 11 years. She not only takes care of her parents-in-law and children, but also works in the fields. It's been hard for her to support the whole family. Her father-in-law was depressed because of the incarcerations of his son and grandson and passed away in 2007.
