Chongqing 610 Office Accelerates Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in September-October 2013

(Minghui.org) The 610 Office established by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) accelerated the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in September and October 2013 in Chongqing.

According to incomplete statistics, Chongqing authorities have arrested, harassed, and imprisoned 66 practitioners in September and October this year. Fifty-four practitioners were arrested, had homes ransacked, or were taken to a brainwashing center. Five were sentenced to prison terms during four trials, six practitioners were harassed, and two were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Zhao Shifang and her husband Mr. Zhou Changsheng were arrested by seven or eight officers from the Longxi National Security Division, Domestic Security Division, police department, police station, and community office on October 16, 2013. Their home was ransacked, and their savings of 300,000 yuan, earned at their barber shop over the years, was confiscated. Only their little daughter was left at home. Other belongings were also confiscated, including eight CDRs, three computers, a tablet personal computer, an MP3 player and Falun Dafa books.

Along with Ms. Zhao and Mr. Zhou, Ms. Zhou Yukun, Mr. Zhang Jun, and Ms. Du Xueqin were also arrested. The police claimed that they would be taken to a brainwashing center. The families were forced to pay 150 yuan per day. According to sources, these practitioners were inhumanly beaten.

Chongqing authorities trained and recruited many officers and homeless people to monitor selected practitioners around the clock. They also promised tens of thousands of yuan in rewards to those who framed practitioners. Even the elderly and children were persecuted. Most of those who were arrested were in their sixties or seventies.

A. List of Selected Practitioners Names

Mr. Li Xiangdong, Ms. Zhan Lanzhen, Ms. Yang Benhui, Ms. Peng Shibi, Mr. Peng Shigui, Mr. Zhou Dulun, Ms. Yan Xiaoyue, Mr. Xia Dong, Mr. Deng Liping, Ms. Zhu Huijie, Ms. Zhang Yuanqing, Ms. Zhou Yonglan, Ms. Zhang Zhifen, Mr. Wang Jin, Ms. Liao Tianbi, Ms. Chen Qixiu, Ms. Chen Binglan, Ms. Qian Yanping, Mr. Lai Yunchang, Ms. Xie Qin, Mr. Liu Daoquan, Ms. Liu Changxiu, Mr. Zeng Chuanfa, Ms. Zhou Mengqi, Ms. Chen Yanan, Ms. Zhou Yuer, Ms. Tao Zhengyun, Ms. Li Zhengying, Ms. Zhao Fengxia, Ms. Tang Mei, Mr. Zhou Shijie, Ms. Zhou Yourong, Ms. Li Zhengying, Ms. Du Xueqin, Ms. Liao Yuzhi, Mr. Yang Xiaoliang, Ms. Xu Suying, Ms. Zhao Shifang, Mr. Zhou Changsheng, and Mr. Zhou Yongkun

A 72-year-old practitioner, as well a practitioner whose name is not known, were also arrested.

Seven practitioners who are being held at the Shuangyuyuan Resort in Huixing Town, Yubei District, are being subjected to brainwashing. Another three practitioners whose names are not known are being held at the Yuzhong District Liziba Detention Center and Chongqing Police Department Addiction Treatment Center.

B. Five Practitioners Facing Illegal Trials in Four Cases:

The Shapingba Court was scheduled to hold a trial for Mr. Liu Daoquan at 3:00 p.m. on November 4, 2013.

The Jiulongpo District Court was scheduled to try Ms. Yang Benhui on October 31, 2013.

The Jiulongpo District Court was scheduled to hold a trial for Ms. Zhan Lanzhen on November 1, 2013.

Ms. Yan Xiaoyue and her husband Mr. Xia Dong faced a trial.

C. Monitoring, Harassment, Detention, and Arrests of Practitioners

Li Zhonglan was monitored on the morning of September 17, 2013. She later escaped.

Jiangbei Wulidian Longta Community attempted to arrest Ms. Yang Hong, but failed.

Officers from the Banan District Huaxi Police Department confiscated Ms. Yu Suhua’s computer and other items.

Officers from the Jiangbei District Shimahe Residents Commission harassed Mr. Liu Minghua on August 22, 2013.

Officers from the Banan District Huaxi Police Department confiscated Ms. Yu Suhua’s computer, printer, and cell phone. She was not at home at the time.

Ms. Liao Yuzhi was arrested and detained for 15 days.

The Jiangjindegan 610 Office harassed Mr. Li Jiming on September 14, 2013. On the same day they ransacked Mr. Chen’s home while he was not at home.

Ms. Yu Chufang was arrested in October 2002. Her home was ransacked and she was taken to the local police department and detained for 12 hours.

Ms. Liu Wanrong was arrested on the morning of September 18, 2013. Her home was ransacked. The local detention center refused to admit her due to her high blood pressure. She was released at 2:00 a.m. the next day.

Ms. Zhu Qiyu was arrested on the morning of September 24, 2013. Her home was ransacked. She was released after a few hours.

An officer harassed Ms. Zhang Jirong and confiscated 50 DVDs of the Shen Yun Performing Arts. Ms. Guo Sufen was also forced to sign the report.

Ms. Jiang was arrested at home on the afternoon of September 23, 2013. Her home was ransacked and video recorded. She was forced to fingerprint and sign documents. Officers released her at about 9:00 p.m. that day.

Ms. Xu Suying was arrested at around 6:00 p.m. on October 2, 2013. She was detained at the Kai County Detention Center for 15 days.

Mr. Shi Shitian was arrested on August 5, 2013. He was detained at the Rongchang Detention Center for ten days.

D. Former Practitioners Persecute Practitioners

The Chongqing City 610 Office and the Hechuan District 610 Office demanded that former practitioners who had "enlightened" along a path with wicked theories organize an activity called “harmonious home,” to be held on the 10th, 20th, and 30th of every month. Officers from the 610 Offices are to participate and give guidance to show their “love.”

Above is recorded important evidence of the 610 Offices' persecution of practitioners in Chongqing in September and October 2013.
