(Minghui.org) Mr. Xia Dong and his wife Ms. Yan Xiaoyue, from Yuzhong District, Chongqing, were sentenced to one year of forced labor in 2010. They were transferred to a detention center when their terms had almost expired. They now face being put on trial.

Mr. Xia and Ms. Yan are practitioners in their twenties. They were illegally arrested in 2010 and sentenced to forced labor.

When Ms. Yan was talking to people about Falun Gong at the Yangjiaping, Jiulongpo District on the morning of August 11, 2010, when someone reported her to the police. She was then arrested and taken to the Jiulongpo District Domestic Security Division, and held at the Jiulongpo District Detention Center. Police officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, DVDs, Dafa books, and a few thousand yuan.

Ms. Yan was later taken to the Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp (Shimahe Labor Camp) to serve a one year forced labor term. Mr. Xia was arrested at home and taken to the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in November 2010 to serve a one year forced labor term.

The couple was transferred from the labor camps to the Huayan Detention Center, Jiulongpo, Chongqing in late May 2011. According to an officer who was involved in the persecution, the forced labor sentence was too light, and they will receive heavier sentences this time.

Ms. Yan started practicing Falun Dafa after the Chinese regime started the persecution in July 1999. Before she began practicing Falun Dafa, she lived an unhappy and unfortunate family life. Her biological mother committed suicide when she was a small child, and her stepmother died of a disease when she was still very young. Her father later developed a bad temper and frequently verbally abused and beat her. She suffered mentally and physically. After she began practicing Falun Dafa, she became very healthy, very kind, thoughtful, and even-tempered. With these positive changes she was determined to practice Falun Dafa and tell people the true facts about the practice and the persecution.

Practicing Falun Dafa is not a crime. Spreading “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” is a good thing. Please keep an eye on the trial of Mr. Xia Dong and Ms. Yan Xiaoyue. They should not be put on trial and should be released, as they have committed no crimes.
