Conscientious Sisters-in-Law Kidnapped, Leaving Mother-in-Law Without Care

October 29, 2013 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Du Lanmei and Ms. Liu Suling are sisters-in-law who live in Yuan Village, Qiaodong District, Shijiazhuang City. They both practice Falun Gong and are known to be dutiful to their 86-year-old mother-in-law.

The two sisters went to the Jingjun Community and posted fliers at 8:00 pm on September 19, 2013, which contained facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. A community security person reported them to the police, who took the sisters to the Penghoujie Police Station.

Cai Yanjun, leader of the Yuan Village Residential Committee, brought Li Jingli, the head of the Penghoujie Police Station, as well as two additional officers, to the home of Ms. Du around 10 a.m. the next day. She and her husband lived with her mother-in-law. They had confiscated the house key from Ms. Du and were able to enter her home without any legal procedure or identification. They robbed her of her personal belongings, her son's computer, and about 20,000 yuan cash. Officers from the Penghoujie Police Station searched the home of Ms. Liu at the same time, and confiscated her belongings as well.

The police took pictures of Ms. Du's son, and her mother and husband were terrified. That afternoon her family went to the Penghoujie Police Station asking to see her, but were turned away. Ms. Du's daughter-in-law was seven months pregnant at the time. When they were not allowed to see Ms. Du, she stood outside the police station for hours, hoping the police would change their minds.

Ms. Du and Ms. Liu were taken to the Nanhuochang Detention Center in Shijiazhuang on the evening of September 20. They were told that they would be detained for about two weeks. Their families begged the police to let them go, but the police refused and did not allow their families to visit the two practitioners.

Ms. Du's mother-in-law has been left at home with no one to care of her, and her daughter-in-law is about to give birth. Her husband and son has to work and cannot take care of the family. The one-year-old granddaughter of Ms. Liu also needs her grandmother.
