(Minghui.org) Forced live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners was a top concern at a public rally on October 20, 2013, in Long Beach, California. The rally, themed “Stop the Persecution, Bring the Criminals to Justice,” was attended by over 3,000 people.
At the rally in Los Angeles on October 20, award-winning composer Tony Chen sang the theme song for “Free China: the Courage to Believe.” Survivors of the persecution of Falun Gong joined him on stage.
Many guest speakers condemned the Chinese regime for killing Falun Gong practitioners to profit from the sale of their organs and called for an immediate end to this crime against humanity.
Over 100 survivors of the persecution of Falun Gong stood next to the stage, while more stood in the crowd.
Master of Ceremonies Shizhong Chen said that Chinese hospitals claimed they could find prospective buyers matching organs in a matter of two weeks. Anyone in the field of biology or medicine will tell you that this is impossible if proper ethical standards are followed. The only way to achieve that is to have a ready-to-go pool of victims who are killed on demand for their organs.
Mr. Chen explained: “The Chinese regime kept a secret database for tissue matching even though the regime has denied it. Several UN special rapporteurs have asked the Chinese regime to explain how Chinese hospitals can tissue match organs in a matter of two weeks. Just to show you how the regime did it, let's ask the survivors: how many of you have been blood tested during detention?”
Over half of the survivors raised their hands.
Mr. Chen then posed the rhetorical question, “The Chinese regime persecutes its people and tortures them with heinous means. Why would it care about their blood types?”
Dr. Torsten Trey, President of Doctors against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH), shared the results of his organization's efforts: “This year, we had a global campaign to the United Nations. Within three months, we have collected more than half a million signatures.”
Dr. Torsten Trey, President of DAFOH, exposes a recent attempt by the Communist regime to try to cover up forced live organ harvesting and called for the UN and other international organizations to continue investigating the issue.
“It cannot be ignored any longer. It is time for the United Nations to take on this task, investigate it further, and call upon China to immediately end this crime against humanity!”
As a medical professional, he pointed out one of the CCP's recent lies: phasing out using organs from executed prisoners within two years. The CCP admits its use of organs from executed prisoners to cover up its executions of living Falun Gong practitioners for their organs.
Originally from Germany, Dr. Trey compared the CCP's new organ-allocation system to the tricks of the Nazis during World War II:
“Recently China has announced a computerized organ-allocation system, yet there is no TRANSPARENCY about the source of the organs entered into this computerized system. The computerized organ-allocation system could thus be misused as a mechanism for 'organ laundering,' mixing unethically harvested organs and voluntarily donated organs.”
“The premature commendation of this computerized system brings back memories of the 1944 International Red Cross visits in Theresienstadt and Auschwitz, where deadly gas chambers were fatally misinterpreted as shower facilities.”
Dr. Chris Wu, Chief Editor of ChinaAffairs.org, says the Chinese Communist Party will collapse as a result of persecuting Falun Gong.
Dr. Chris Wu, Chief Editor of ChinaAffairs.Org and a renowned democracy advocate, urged new CCP chief Xi Jinping to “immediately stop the persecution and slaughter of Falun Gong practitioners.” He categorized the persecution of Falun Gong a "massacre," including killing the practitioners for their organs.
He said: “2,000 years ago, Christians were persecuted and slaughtered in the Roman Empire. Later on the Roman Empire perished, yet Christianity spread all over the world for the next 2,000 plus years. History always repeats itself. The CCP regime is doomed to perish, and Falun Gong will spread throughout the world.”
Seven proclamations from politicians at the federal, state, and local levels recognized the October 20 rally.
Other guest speakers from the federal and local levels highlighted human trafficking and organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners.
Long Beach City Councilwoman Suja Lowenthal said, “It is unbelievable, and more than that, absolutely horrifying, to know that the practice of eradicating part of our human race still exists in this world.”
She shared a story of her sixth grade son learning about the Holocaust from a 90-year-old Jewish woman, a survivor of the Holocaust, and said that it was her and her son's job not to allow that part of history to be repeated and to support Falun Gong practitioners.
“Through the survivors, what is amazing is that Falun Gong practitioners continue to respond to the state-sanctioned violence using entirely peaceful means. I admire that about you. I admire that Falun Gong practitioners continue to educate and enliven people's consciences around the globe,” she added.
Her appreciation was shared by many other officials. A total of seven proclamations commending the rally were received from Congressman Ed Royce, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, Congressman Alan Lowenthal, Supervisors Don Knabe and Zev Yaroslavsky with Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California State Assembly Member Bonnie Lowenthal, the Mayor of Long Beach, and Councilwoman Suja Lowenthal of Long Beach.
Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, attended the Sunday rally after church. He referred to Falun Gong as “the soul of China.” He is among the 150 co-sponsors of House Resolution 281: “expressing concern over persistent and credible reports of systematic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from non-consenting prisoners of conscience, in the People's Republic of China, including from large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned for their religious beliefs, and members of other religious and ethnic minority groups.”
Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, referred to Falun Gong as “the soul of China.”
Congressman Alan Lowenthal, who extended a proclamation to the rally, is another co-sponsor of Resolution 281 from the state of California.
The resolution has been referred to the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific in Foreign Affairs Committee in Congress. Within three months of its introduction, including a government shutdown, the resolution has obtained overwhelming bipartisan support from about 40 states in the U.S., with its co-sponsors equally divided between the two political parties.
